Fantastic for bass too
Anonymous 10.11.2016
I use this pedal for my bass guitar and was instantly hooked on the sound and especially the versatility of the pedal. It is capable of going from "some dirt" all the way to fuzz madness where the sound is smooth. The small potentiometers inside the pedal make it even better to customize the sound. It took me about two days to set the perfect tone, now it just stays there. The filter makes it easy to dial in a dark or a bright tone depending on the mood and song, everything else is set and forget for me.

I am satisfied with the aluminium housing, all around good quality. There is nothing more I would need in a fuzz pedal. Especially for bass, as it retains all of your low-end!!

Top Fuzz

I bought the Swollen Pickle due to my fondness for Muffs.
I already have a BigMuff on my board but felt I need another one to have more variety of tone of the same type at any given time during sets, so I have a heavy cranked low end as my main rhythm and a harsher brittle like for lead stuff. This is where the Swollen Pickle enters the picture.
The moment I turned it on what got to me was the variety of tones you can get, crunchy, fuzzy, scooped, shrill, etc. The filter is really really good at modeling your needs. The scoop and crunch knobs add such character to the sound. It really is quite variable and all of the possibilities all sound great, unlike some pedals where you get just one or two sweet spots. The SP you get sweet spots very often any way you turn the knobs.
It is very present, wild but controllable, and very well built.
All in all it's a great add to my board without compromising in quality . It is not a one-trick-pony nor a flavour of the month type. It's a Muff after all. It's a Muff whose add-ons really contribute to the users ouvre. If you're on the fence between a SP or another Muff, get this one.

I love this thing
AntofromIreland 16.03.2021
I bought the pickle just for messing round and writing doomy riffs on the couch. It feels way overqualified for that though, I'd be more than happy to use this for gigs.

The knobs are very sensitive so there's a lot of playing around to find the right tone if that's what you're into.

The sheer quality of the fuzz is what has me excited though, it just sounds incredible.

10/10 would fuzz again

It's a massive fuzz with a lot of controls, it might take you a while to get used to but I'm extremely happy with it! Note : mind the signal chain

Huge indeed.

Packs a punch! Going through the H&K Grandmeister Deluxe 40 it does make your guitar sound Way Huge.

Pros
A very detailed approach to fuzz indeed which can give you a plethora of options. From an abrasive razor like sound to a warm hug.
A little easter egg of a surprise is in the pedal if you open it to further sculpt your tone.

Cons
Noisy. But it's expected.

Sounds fat and full of character
Plghrsko 28.09.2018
Only downside (which some will view as an upside) to this pedal is that the knobs are extremely sensitive and have a huge response range. You might have to seat for a while to get exactly the tone you want. It also makes it harder to get consistent tone. Nevertheless, that's one of my all time favorite

Great fuzz

I use it mainly for very dirty blues-rock stuff, or for adding some fluff to a funk sound in line with a phaser. It handles a lot of situations, from touch-sensitive soft distortions to pure insanity. Plus it sounds great. No cons that I can find.
