The mute fits easily on the cello bridge and blocks wide range of frequencies with variable degree of success. Works fine when practice room acoustics are too loud or when there is a need for practice in a hotel or shared apartment. But the mute is not massive enough to provide complete "stealth" or "night practice" possibilities.

This mute does not really mute my cello a lot. It doesn't matter whether I use it or not, the sound level/vibrations stays more or less the same. It fits the bridge nicely and doesn't touch the strings.
