Entry Level Unit
RyanH 23.01.2014
Its a good unit to start off with using in ears. The functions and menu controls are quite easy to use and functional. Sound quality was ok, we upgraded our headphones because the ones that came with it were a bit average and 1 set broke in half after being dropped. The unit its self seams sturdy enough and works well. It did induce mobile phone noise tho from the body pack with a mobile phone in proximity and yes it was loud! Something to look out for is devices with Acoustic shock protection built in. I believe this model and the cheaper models don't have this and it could cause you serious damage if something goes wrong. We have 2 body packs and just use left and right to separate the 2 signals to a mono body pack mix.

Good for entry level but keep looking if you want professional quality with acoustic shock protection.

Good unit at a great price
Anonymous 03.03.2016
Got these to send our guitarists out into the crowd to interact at wedding gigs.

Pros: Does exactly what it's supposed to do. Batteries are AA so cheap and easily replaced (especially important at a gig!), Lightweight transmitter and receiver. Simple to use and the squelch is a nice little bonus. Multiple channels. Good range on the unit (we used them in big halls and function rooms and never had issues.

Cons: I found that the tone of the guitars changed when using these as opposed to using leads. It wasn't a major change but definitely noticeable to our ears. Changing channels etc wasn't easy - you have to open the transmitter and unless you have nails on your fingers, you'll need a small flat head screwdriver to change the channels on both the transmitter and receiver.

Verdict: Overall we like these a lot. They're super easy to set up and are light and very easy to throw into a bag with leads. They're also very good value!

OK for the price but poor frequency response
Anonymous 01.06.2016
I was initially really pleased with the price. The build quality is to be expected, plastic cases etc. but setup and everything was easy, it supports a good range of frequencies and includes the balanced AKG mini-xlr plug.

What was not welcome was the poor frequency response of the unit when used with my guitar. There was a really noticeable difference between plugging my guitar direct to my amp and plugging it via this unit, loads of mid and top had been removed. Having a passive guitar (like most people) means that I can pre-boost these frequencies and I couldn't get the sound back even with major adjustments to the EQ on the amp.

Fine for basic stuff but I wouldn't use it for a gig.
