I love this little adapter. I have some devices that use midi protocol to communicate and this adapter enables me to extend any midi cable and sometimes acts like a little midi patch bay ( i just plug one of the terminals and let the other one free so i can have a handy place to connect my midi equipment).
When I use it with 2 very long midi cables the sssnake 1871 Adapter starts acting like a capacitor and sometimes i lose some bits during the communication, but with smaller cables there are no problems at all. This problem can be more or less noticeable depending the type of equipment being connected, some can handle the lost bits without to much hassle, but some are really sensible. Once again, if the cables are of a decent length and not huge i have experienced no problems at all.
Its handy, very well build, i think it could be a smaller (its about 4 cm, its not huge but i still feel that it could be a little smaller), is made of an hard plastic material with grooves on it.
It feels good to the touch and it does his job like is suppose to do. I would recommend it if you need to extend a midi cable or if you need a midi terminal ready to connect different sources
