Synergy SYN-5050 - "heavy tough guy"
Timasson 02.01.2023
Quite a heavy device - that's understandable - transformers. The depth does not allow saving space in the rack, I had to look for a suitable rack case. The fan is also a little noisy - it turns on periodically, so you won't be able to put a microphone next to it. Not the first time I figured out the manual and the connection - everything was very confusing, it seemed to me (by the way, I’m not the only one on the Internet who did not immediately understand how to connect this amplifier), but in the end everything turned out to be extremely easy and understandable!
The sound of the amplifier is very good. I have seen comments that low frequencies are not enough - but there are a lot of them and even more, at least with 4x12! The idea of having two separate channels wasn't very clear at first, but I figured it out by replacing the two speakers in a stack in a pair with others and using that side for clean and slightly crunchy sound, and the other two speakers for overdrive and high gain. So I felt comfortable!
In general, a cool rack amplifier, with flexible settings and connection options, for those who are comfortable with a rack format.

Fantastic Power Amp
Broadwood Music Productions 06.09.2022
Having gone down the Fractal/Synergy preamp route i was looking for a power amp to deliver the goods to my Brunetti 4x12. This amp is expensive. Yes. But it is so well designed and contained in 1u of rackspace that it was worth the money. I want my guitar rig for studio use as well as live so was a little worried about the fan noise I had heard so much about but was very pleasantly suprised that. although you can hear it, the noise is minimal. I have my rig in control room and feed out to speakers in live room and there are simply zero issues. It is solidly built and as long as you allow for air flow around the unit and route your cabling away from the vent i do not foresee any performance issues further down the line. Well done Stephen Fryette!

Great sounding power amps for Synergy preamps
ZeeKay 11.05.2024
I bought this power amp for studio use, accompanying my Syn-1 and Syn-2 modular preamps. Signal chain: pedalboard into syn-2, into 5050, into Freyette reactive load IR and then Apollo interface. This setup sounds incredibly natural and realistic and responsive, you can dial any sounds and with the right impulse responses this just sounds incredible. Can be used stereo, dual mono and mono, making it very flexible. The presence and the depth control work efficiently as well. Special thanks to Thomann for their customer support.

Eine "amerikanische" Endstufe?
hoffandr 27.12.2022
