T
it just works
Tomi-Croatia 22.12.2023
Never had any problems with it, I use it to separate the audio from an HDMI signal, so I can send it to an audio mixer. It just works with all the standard resolutions from a laptop. Maybe you want to know if the audio stays in the HDMI signal after extraction, and yes it does! It just passes the signal through. Really useful to have in conferences when someone wants to play a video from their laptop, and they don't have a 3,5mm jack. Just choose HDMI as a sound output device and you'll get the picture and the sound on the same HDMI cable.

Amazingly good sound

Really pleased with this device, it is solidly constructed and works well. On Blu-ray discs I use the optical output into my headphone dac/amp and on DVD discs the rca output seems to work better to prevent stuttering for some reason. I can recommend this device without hesitation.

Not as useful as I hoped,
Vincent BXL 02.06.2024
I hoped the "arc" function would mean this box would take advantage of arc protocol to extract audio from some devices like tv's... but no... when arc is enabled, audio outputs (analogue/toslink) stop working, which is quite a bummer. This device really only works when intercepting the signal between a hdmi emitter and a hdmi receiver that were able to negotiate a proper device to device session.

Overall sound quality is mostly ok on the analogue output, but if your source is loud, you may have some slight clipping.
