Improve your workflow. Buy an audio desk. Just not this one!

Update 5/7/16

As equipment evolves this became less relevant.

When I started with this desk I had three PC monitors perched on the riser section. Big screens are now so cheap most people can afford them. Big screens don't work well up on a riser. Once you've unbolted the riser you are left with a massive desk, which, because of its width, is impossible to set up without it creating audio reflections from the desk surface being in front of the monitors. The excessive width means you cannot set up monitors to avoid desk reflections and achieve the ideal listening position whilst still actually sitting at the desk. You could set the monitors behind the desk but the riser would then be in the way.

Because the desk has, what is now, arguably from the perspective of working in the box, a ridiculous amount of its space set up for now almost defunct rack equipment it is incapable of holding any keyboard bigger than a computer keyboard under the main desk. The result is that you plonk your synth on the desktop. This handily converts a desk into a very expensive acoustically flawed keyboard stand.

IF you mix with headphones AND you need massive amounts of rack space then go ahead. But Thomann now sells some nice smaller desks with full width keyboard trays and additional rack boxes if you need them. They are a little more expensive but from an acoustical and practical point of view they make much more sense. Highly NOT recommended.
