Really like this mic
Really like this mic on different sources. Use it a lot on vocals (mostly in combination with any other dynamic or condensor mic), sometimes on percussive stuff or on BV with a lot of distance/room to create a different sound. Prefer the the 520DX over the Superlux D112 C, although the Superlux is much cheaper. There was always something in the frequency range (high mids) I did not like with the Superlux. If you are looking for something extra, with a perfectly balanced narrow frequency range, this is the thing. For me, a mic like the 520DX works a lot better than EQ-ing a 'standard' mic on a pré-amp or with a plugin in your DAW. Just set it up next to another mic, check the phase and your done.
No experience with harp however.
PRO: nice in combination with other mic's for a ton of purposes. Great built quality. Great value for money.
CONS: have to drive it hard on your pre-amp. Little noisy, but that can also be a benefit for what it may be used for. It has no shockmount. I use a Rycote (or an MXL).

Great mic option
For harmonica, this is excellent. I used to play in a band in which the singer used this as the harmonica mic and can confirm the sound quality is great. I use the same mic in a studio environment when I want that high pass and low pass lo-fi sound. It really is great to create that sound but you will need quite a bit of pre-amp gain since the output of the mic is pretty low. I've used it to record guitar amps too as a special effect and it really works so well every time.

very good
Very good product, strong, reliable and provides you a good ol' sound, maybe a little heavy (about 700 gr). Also good to amplify mr pearl bass drum

The choice of professionals
I got this for the bands new harmonica player. It does what it is supposed to do, but the built in volume control could cause issues on stage until you get a feel for it, unless you have an out front engineer. Highly recommended.

Best mic for harmonica
This is a great mic for harmonica (and for vocals, with or without an overdrive-effect). The great thing about this mic is the holding of this mic while playing harmonica, its durability and its very good sound. The only downside is the absence of an mic-holder.
