A useful pickup but...
DaveS 28.02.2014
This pickup is designed to fit underneath two of the feet on a guitar bridge. I tried this and didn't like it at all. I took it off, removed the resonator and used Everbuild Mammoth Powergrip Double-Sided Tape (A hearty product plug for a superb and essential product) to stick it to the skin underneath the bridge feet. Now it sounds good and works well. The piezo pickups are small and don't show through the skin.

I don't usually chuck in gratuitous plugs, but every guitarist should own a roll of Powergrip double sided tape. You have been told.

w
with a banjo bass

I use this on a home made banjo bass or bassjo if you prefer and it works pretty well.It keeps a real banjo sound and deals perfectly with low end sounds of a bass.I don't know how it works on a real banjo but I suppose it does the job well (it's made for !)

Good simple pickup
GHarrisonMusic 04.01.2020
Bought more complex pickup from fishman a while back and had problems fitting in my Banjo so bought this purely for a quik fix but have been very pleased with it. Have used it all year for multiple live shows and fingers crossed had no problems. Worth spending a bit of time moving the pickup around before sticking it to rear of banjo in order to find sweet spot.

Does what it has to.

I was searching for a way to easily amplify my banjo. This turned out fairly easy. I just released the string tension slightly, pushed it beneath the bridge and it works just fine. The jack I bonded to the body with the supplied velcro tape. The only thing is, I feel that the highs are a bit underrepresented in the sound. But that is rather a question of your personal taste. You can fix that with the equalizer (I only did not want to change it because my acoustic guitar goes into the same channel).
