One of the best acoustic mic systems out there
MikeT 31.05.2013
In 2007 I bought the most expensive guitar that I ever had, and indeed ever will buy. Shortly after I bought this pickup from Thomann and it's been sat in my acoustic ever since.

I put plenty of research into the right pickup and I haven't been disappointed. It gives you a blend between a magnetic pickup and a microphone which for me was perfect- I wanted to get the percussive sounds that a microphone would pick up but didn't want to lose any of the strength that a magnetic pickup give your sound. It works perfectly and you can blend the level of microphone or pickup.

The adjustment knobs are fairly hard to get to- they just about peek out of the sound hole behind the strings on the side of the pickup. Personally I think once you've set up your sound it's nice not to be able to knock and accidentally change. I have however plugged in to a PA and had instant microphonic feedback- very fiddly to alter in a rush! That said the alternative would be installing a control panel in the side of your guitar... no thanks!

Overall a superb sounding pickup.

Fantastic option, especially for Percussive - if you don't hit it
Flamenco-Funk Fusion Player 29.04.2020
I'm a professional performer playing flamenco-funk fusion. It's a highly percussive style and I hit all over the body, repeatedly, multiple times. This is one of the most natural feeling pickups I've tried for my style, and it creates a perfect blend of bass thump and string sounds. It's very easy to try out without committing since its an easy install, and it's a fantastic sound from the go.

The overall sound is little mid scooped, I've found electric players moving to acoustic seem to like it, with emphasis on the bass and treble.

The ONLY negative - and main reason why can't use this pickup any more sadly - is that my percussive style literally breaks the pickup, around it's 'wings' where it clamps onto the sound hole and some of the wiring inside.

So if you are a MAJORLY percussive player hitting the top half of your acoustic, where a cutaway would be especially, then consider that this pickup might break on you. I have got through 3 of them and sold the 4th - Switch to K&K Trinity. Doesn't feel as natural, not as easy to EQ and setup out of the box at all, but more resilient for me.

Best I`ve heard.
Zimzelen 05.10.2017
This one is just what I need, seperate controls for the mag and mic with 1 output. Make sure you don`t need 2 outputs because thats a different pickup.

I compared it to LR Baggs mic and it wasnt much of a difference, this one is easier to use and more versatile, imho.
Cheers
