Must be good
olegp 20.09.2020
I bought it for Katana Mini. Actually it gives it some additional noise (with a cheap guitar cable can be double). Nothing new really. I didn't measure the output and all kinds of things. I can evaluate the design. It is lightweight, cold, has a light indicator. The power plug can be changed and it is an additional length extension. the DC cable it long enough and seems strong. Not sure if people use it with the pedal boards since it does add some hum.

Recommended for use on Roland and BOSS products, this power supply could do with better quality cable insulation. With frequent use, the rigid coating on the DC output cable is prone to cracking where it meets the adapter, exposing the bare copper wire and eventually leading to a short circuit and possible damage to equipment. As a rule, I now wrap the cable with electrical tape to reinforce it. A more supple wire option would prolong the usable life of this product.

Power up!
Sconemeister 03.04.2020
I bought this to power a second-hand Roland D5 that I acquired. Quite simply, it does the job perfectly.

In addition to powering the keyboard, it's a very useful feature for me that the plug is separate from the adapter - this enables me to use this connected to a UK or EU socket as required.

Great product, does what it says on the tin!

A
Good but not great
Algirdas 09.06.2015
I gave it four stars because the quality is not as good as I expected at this price. While it looks like it's built to last, I cannot help but feel that both sides of the adapter housing could have been joined together more tidily. I also think that with today's technology, it could have been made a little smaller than it is now. Other than that, I'm fairly satisfied with my purchase. During use, I didn't notice any extraneous noises that usually plague less expensive adapters and it didn't seem to mind any interferences from mobile phone signals either. I only wish it was cheaper...

Works perfectly with SP-303
kokodrimpy 31.05.2022
The voltage same the same rating, the current is twice as much, which will not hurt the unit.
Works perfectly with my SP-303.
I really like the long AC cable: it does not congest my power strip and gives extra mobility to the little device :)

L
Doesn't filter mains hum effectively and also adds other noise
LiamG 12.01.2016
Bought 2 years ago to power a 'Roland Mobile Cube' (portable amp); I have noticed poor filtering of 50hz mains hum and also additional 'burbly' electronic noises, most likely added by the switched-mode power supply itself. I Did not return it at the time because, back then, I was less educated about such issues. In short, ignore the brand name and don't expect this to perform any better than an un-branded 10 Euro power supply. (Although maybe I got a bad one, who knows?)

M
Not so satisfied with Keytar
Marcxstation 10.12.2019
This was probably the second one I used with the Roland Lucina AX-09 synth. The cable broke twice. later I replaced it with a re-enforced cable. It's very weak. It's great for stationary use, (when I used for Roland Juno G), but sadly not so great for keytars.

like these better than most power supplies, enough juice for up to 4 pedals
markkus 17.02.2022
If it came standard with a daisy chain of 4, it would be perfect for me. As I also have lot of other boss/roland equipment I always have these handy and when I need to setup some pedals for testing an idea I always use these for a quick and noiseless test..

B
It's a simple device and does what it's supposed to
Bandi 03.09.2024
I've had several of these during the years. It's a good power supply. Downside:
If it's packed, coiled, and uncoiled too often, the 9V cable (the thinner one) will eventually break.
Upside:
It works wordwide, has plenty of power, and overall is a good bang for the buck.
