For the most part, amazing
Anonymous 02.06.2016
Definitely a great feeling, responsive and enjoyable to play V-Drum cymbal. Of course, it feels very different to an actual hi-hat as it has slightly less resistance and bounce back on the stick but I actually found this to be enjoyable - Once I got back on my acoustic kit, I found my feel and speed on the hats had improved since playing the CY-5.

Anyway, really nice quality for the most part. These things to do take a beating and other than the snare, they probably get hit the most and hardest on my TD-11K kit. I've had one go faulty on me after almost a year but to be quite honest, at this price and with the amount I play (i'm quite a hard hitting drummer), I'd put this down to general wear and tear. Good stuff roland!

Roland CY-5 Review
Josh G. 30.04.2015
After buying the Roland TD4KX kit 5 years ago the cymbals finally gave in and broke. So I ordered a new set and couldn't be happier with how they work for my specific needs. I use them in conjunction with the Superior Drummer software for recording bands and artists and they do the job perfectly. Very hard wearing pads and the cymbal easily corresponds with Superiors Hi Hat settings. Working in a home studio means an acoustic drum kit isn't an option but with the purchase or these cymbals it makes it possible for me to make productions that sound great and keep the drummer happy as he/she isn't playing their own acoustic kit! 5 Stars!

Great upgrade for my edrums
TheBouff 27.04.2020
I got this to replace an old roland pd-7. The reason I wanted to upgrade was for playing feel but more importantly noise reduction in my new apartment. It is quieter.... so that is good.... but I am most impressed with how this feels compared to the pd-7.... very happy I upgraded

Excellent product and came with "extras"
Sebadasta 12.02.2021
Totally happy with this product, I was surprised to find that I also got a plug cable and some bits and pieces to attach it to different stand types.

Totally recommend it!

I have had this one before in original Roland TD-3 kit. And when I needed a replacement, I decided to go with this one again. As it is pretty sensitive and well build. Didn't want to risk buying alternative cymbals.

Surprisingly it came with all the needed components - cable, 2 types of mounting adapters (1st for L shaped rack mounting and 2nd for cymbal arm) and even drum key.

The cymbal itself is very good quality and acoustic noise is comparable to rest of v-drum cymbals on the market. It also wont't take much space due to mounting on the rack.

Hooked up to my drum set and was playing at no time.

It works but is a replacement
Michael W. 151 23.05.2017
Bought for my son's e-drumkit, this was a replacement for the original which just stopped working.

It isn't especially cheap so one would have hoped for greater longevity - perhaps we were just unlikely.

That said, it works as it should. Given what it does, there's not a lot more one can say.

Good cymbal pad
Brissos 14.09.2022
Judging by how it looks and feels like the older one I had, it's durable. Responsive, doesn't feel too rubbery playing it, good rebound
