Spot On!

Brilliant to be able to source these iconic heads in ANY size, my Ludwig Amber Vistalite John Bonham reissue kit now completely kitted out in Remo CS Black Spots, even the Super 26" Kick, well done Thomann, as regards the heads, big open round "live" sound, crank them up, undamped, amazing. They really do suit the Vistalites & make them the unique, legendary drums they are.

I've used Remo CS batter heads since the 1980's with some exceptions where I have gone to pinstripes for the even more controlled sound. An open, but yet controlled classic head. Recommended for all.

It's nice that Remo now are producing these heads after some years of pause. They really tighten up the sound of the drum. In live settings these heads are great as reso heads together with whatever you prefer as batter head. Try it, and you will hear what I'm talking about.

13", 16", 18"... auf die Toms habe ich die CS aufgezogen. Ich war immer bei Powerstroke 3 oder Emperor. Das war zwar immer rockig, doch irgendwie auch schwammig, mehr ein Wummern, vor allem für die großen Toms. Die CS sind offener, sensibler und haben mehr Attack und zwar nicht auf Kosten vom Ton der Trommeln. Sie klingen sehr sauber und satt. Auf die beiden großen Toms lege ich noch ein kleines Flummi, um das Schmettern des dünnen Fells etwas zu nehmen und sie etwas weicher zu machen (nur in Nuancen). Nach einem Gig bin ich erstmal begeistert.

13", 16", 18"... I put the CS on the toms. I was always with Powerstroke 3 or Emperor. It was always rocking, but somehow vague, more of a booming sound, especially for the big toms . The CS are more open, more sensitive and have more attack, and not at the expense of the tone of the drums. They sound very clean and rich. I put a small bouncy ball on the two large toms to take away some of the banging of the thin skin to make them a little softer (only in nuances). After a gig, I'm initially thrilled.
