Synthetic skin is amazing but your sound is very much difference than a skin djembe.
It has a strong ring, which cannot really be reduce without greatly reducing the volume of the drum (using the Control Ring/Dot Mylar stickers).
It takes more skill to be able to have crisp tone versus a loud and very harmonic slap compared to a goat skin.
The bass is better than a natural skin of the same size, it's clear, deeper, sounds like a sub-woofer.
The drum head is extremely sensitive, you can easily drum with 1 finger, any light touch or brushing is heard.
You can very clearly hear the texture of your hands and fingers in the final sound.
You just make different type of music using this drum head...
