Perfect hybrid-string-set
Rouven III 23.02.2014
I have always been a friend of hybrid-string-sets, because thinner treble-strings allow easier bendings and fat bass-strings give you a punchy and powerful sound in the bottom. I have always used an anlog string-set by Ernie Ball (Hybrid Slinky, 2222), but then I found the Pyramid-strings in same gage. They feel a little bit different and sound a little bit different (in my opinion a little bit more peak in the heights), but the most important factor for me: they are cheaper. If you change a lot of strings you will notice saving money! Another positive aspect is the criterion "Made in Germany" - as a german guy I'm not to patriotic, but I like it to support the European community and saving jobs instead of investing in an Amercian company.
All in all: the strings feel good and you have a lot fun when playing guitar!

J
Tried them, loved them!
Jonwbd 05.03.2022
Initially I only tried Pyramid strings because, at the price Thomann were asking, I felt that I wouldn’t be losing out by much if I didn’t like them. Now, I buy them every time I shop with Thomann.

The strings are great quality and sound excellent. I’ve never had any issues with tuning stability or breakage and find these strings to last a decent length of time.

I would recommend any musician looking for strings to consider Pyramid. I’ve never been disappointed with these strings and I’ve used them on acoustic, electric and bass.

Good alternative to usual brands

Very good alternative to usual strings brands. Sweet and warm sound even if thin gauge due to the presence of nickel. Also durable and never rusted or broke. Thumbs up!

ST
Ok only for its price.

Never played pyramids before, always being E.Ball user. After two weeks of playing i can say i like EB more. Used them in tuning BF#BEG#C#.
Feeled ok and sounded acceptible, but "faded" too soon.
Were some tuning issues after upper whammy bar pitch, but maybe due to their new condition.
Being pressed in tremolo saddles with the same torque as other strings, they tend to slip off tremolo lock. It required to press them in with force, that i wish to avoid in order not to damage screws or locks.

I don't think i'll buy these strings again.

Used to be brilliant, now poor qualitu.
Paul599 28.01.2014
I've been using these strings for 10-15 years, but the last 20 sets ordered from here have all had issues with the 0.026 D string. Within an hour of installation, the string is muffled. Within 2 hours, it's completely dead. It seems the windings collapse at the saddle.

It happens to all my guitars, it's not a technique thing as I've happily used these strings for years and it's only the one string that fails.

It may be a bad batch, but I had quality problems with the Pyramid Gold set too - it looks like Pyramid's manufacturing isn't what it used to be.

A shame, but I'll be spending my money elsewhere as it's not worth the risk.

Best Bang for the Buck
EValera 29.10.2018
No gimmicks, inexpensive well made strings, good tone, they hold well.

Feel. They don't feel weirdly slippery like new Ernie Ball's, not as harsh on the fingers as some others.
Inexpensive without being cheaply made.
No plastic packaging, which I like but means I'm not buying in bulk (good for the environment, bad for long term storage).
Tone is just the usual nickel on steel.
They rust about the same pace as D'Addario's imo, which is normal and fine. As usual, just remember to wipe your strings after playing and they'll hold twice as long.

Hybrid sets are great! I wish they also did balanced tension sets like D'Addario though.

Acceptable
Harmonic Tonic 06.07.2017
This was the first time I have used Pyramid electric guitar strings.I put them on my telecaster. The initial tune up didn't go very well as when I gave the first string a gentle tug to make sure it was tight at each end, it snapped, in my estimation way too easily. Now I know 9's are a light gauge but I have done this previously without this happening. So anyway I replaced the broken one and the others tuned up without incident.
Once tuned up they are pretty good, bright and they stay bright for weeks.I had to change them after about a month or so when the A string was out of tune on higher frets, but in fairness they had been played quite a bit.
I did record some stuff with them [effected with distortion] and it was usable.
I have to say I won't be using them again, but for the price they acceptable I suppose.

DE
My current go-to string brands
Dean Elianto 22.01.2018
I have been using Pyramid sets as well as the Framus blue label strings for the past few months and this Pyramid set is the better quality of the two.

Pros:

Much better out of the box feeling, compared to the Framus set.

Much better durability, holds their feel much longer compared to the Framus sets, which starts feeling scratchy after a few weeks, while this set does not.

Feel is great, feels less 'stiff' compared to D'addario EXLs, but this is personal preferences.

Cons:

Non-vacuum bag packaging.

This is definitely my current go-to strings as they are cheaper per sets compared to D'addario sets I was using in the past, while offering almost as good feel and sound. And this is a clear upgrade over the slightly cheaper Framus blue label strings.

Mixed feelings
flivver 17.11.2019
Not that easy to rate these strings. Probably, my description should be just "they are OK". They hold tuning quite well. Not too much stretching was necessary. Pleasant feeling under fingers. However, sound-wise they are quite neutral, without any special character. Maybe that is good for someone, but I am not that impressed. If you are on budget and have to change strings often, maybe they are the right ones. I play metal and use Floyd.
