Da un annetto ho cominciato ad apprezzare le corde Pyramid. Ho iniziato con le nickel standard, quelle con il pacchetto blu per intenderci, ed ora sto usando le Nickel Classic sulla Stratocaster e le Maximum Performance sulla Les Paul. Non essendoci corde sfuse dei suddetti modelli, oltre a comprare le mute, ho deciso di comprare delle corde sfuse di questo tipo -specialmente i cantini- per evitare di spendere troppo. Devo dire che pur appartenendo ad un altro modello, ovvero la linea base già provata in passato -non sono Classic e non sono Maximum Performance-, si mischiano bene con entrambi i modelli. A livello di personalità sono leggermente meno ricche delle Maximum Performance e un po' più esuberanti delle Nickel Classic. Come suonabilità sono più che discrete. Come longevità forse non sono il massimo. Ma tra le marche più pubblicizzate a mio avviso c'è di molto peggio. Una caratteristica delle Pyramid -succede con ogni modello più o meno- è che perdono quasi immediatamente (una settimana) il "bite" delle corde nuove. Questo non significa che diventano "sorde" o "morte" come qualche ragazzo distratto dice. Perché se analizzate lo spettro lo troverete tutt'altro che povero. La resistenza della corda (in questo caso il SI) è discreta. Semplicemente perdono un po' di attacco, dunque un po' di alte. E questo spesso può essere un vantaggio, specialmente in ambiti non metal.
Concludendo:
- se usate mute Pyramid Rosse o Blu questa è la scelta giusta, ovviamente.
- se, come me, usate altri modelli Pyramid, questa potrebbe essere una scelta ragionevole. Specialmente come soluzione economica momentanea.
