Sturdy and affordable
Excellent cymbal stand. I use 3 of these around my kit and they never let me down. Good build quality, heavy but not too heavy (if that makes sense). The option to use it as a straight stand is great too. Pearl never fails to deliver excellent products at affordable prices.

The sound of the cymbal is better!!
I'm going to sound crazy, but your cymbal is going to sound different.
I was shocked, but when you play a cymbal side by side on this stand vs on a flimsier stand (whatever it may be, I tried multiple ones), the cymbal will feel and sound different.
The sound is more open (by that, I mean that the sound that it carries after one or two seconds from hitting the cymbal will retain more character and texture), and the feel is more punchy, so the sound will obviously also be a bit more punchy as well. The cymbal is not going anywhere.
Besides, you have tons of tweaking available, to place the cymbal exactly how you want.
This is heavier than the flimsy stands, and I always try to make my gear as lightweight as possible. But it's always a compromise with the sound and feel. In this case, the heavier weight is a price much worth paying for the feel and sound.
I also tried to blend the top part of that stand with a flimsier bottom, to save some weight, but the feel became almost the same as the flimsy stands. A strong base is actually crucial.
If you've never had a high-end stand, get one. Just do it!

Top of the class
Another top quality product from Pearl. Easily holds my heaviest ride cymbal and is rock solid, even when crashing it. The build quality of the stand is fantastic, you can feel it when setting it up. For a heavy duty, double braced stand I don't feel the stand itself is overly heavy. A good buy for what I was looking for, and would recommend to anyone looking for a stable and sturdy boom stand.

Good heavy stand
This stand is very heavy and steady. Build quality is very good. Can hold heavy cymbals. But its heavy stand, if you are gigging a lot, this might be a problem, I believe.
