Very durable.

Ive been using Neutrik equipment for years. There's no better components company within music that i've found. Everything is built to stand the test of time.. and it does.

When building my guitar rack, I didn't want the Jack Sockets in the units I was using all the time to get damaged or worn out. Its much cheeper to replace one of these, that to replace the jack socket on a printed circuit board.

So I brought a load of these, and made a patch bay on the back of the rack. It also made it really easy for creating a guitar loom to run to my pedal board.

There really easy to solder with a bit of patience. They will last forever im convinced.

Fantastic Jack Socket for the money.

It works fine

Though that plastic lever can be very difficult to press and it digs in your fingers quite a lot. Can even hurt a bit. I wondered why they made it plastic and in this sadistic form factor . I found the solution for the first part (I guess it is the same piece that touches the contacts inside so has to be plastic to avoid shorts) though for the second part I didn't find any reason

The first Neutrik product that I didn't like
nikreiman 01.07.2024
These connectors are not great, and sadly there doesn't seem to be any alternatives (at least at Thomann) for 6,3mm D-Type connectors. I have two main complaints with these connectors:

1. The locking mechanism is way too stiff. It's completely unnecessary (IMHO) and just makes it hard to pull the cables out. It takes a lot of force both to press down on the ejector button and to pull out the cable (which probably isn't great for the cable).
2. I get weak signals with these connectors; the audio sounds fine but is about -20dB quieter than when connecting directly to the sound interface. Yes, there's a chance that this is due to my soldering, but I doubt that's the issue. Even so, I'd avoid these connectors due to the locking issues alone.

Too good at what it does
BlackSpire 26.10.2021
I bought these sockest with the explicit expectation that the prevent people on stage from accidentally disconnection one of my cables.
For that they are perfect. Unfortunately, event when I want to diconnect a cable it is still quite hard to do so.
So if you have to work with jack cables then this is definetly the safer solution than having a standard jaco socket.
I myself try to avoid jack connectors in general wherever possible.

I
Best for my guitar rig
I'mTheSoundGuy 23.10.2019
I use this d-type connector in my guitar rig rack and, in touring conditions, trust me, the locking mechanism that this baby comes with it's a true life saver. It solders like any pro connector should solder, really well, and it has a well built chasis and a good design. I run 3 sometimes 4 jacks from the amp heads to the on-stage cabinets and as I said above the locking mechanism helps not caring about anyone who accidentaly trips on that 20 cm portion where the cable defenders ends.

JUST AWESOME! NEUTRIK IS THE BEST
Anonymous 25.02.2015
Really annoyed that you're cable is always coming out of your guitars jack every time you step on it or go to far from the amp?? Look no more, this is more for guitars with side jacks, but man is this a good product! Super easy to use, you just put the cable normally and then press the button and pull the cable to safely remove it! I found out about this in my 2008 les paul standard as it came with it, and its just awesome, been putting these on other les pals ever since!! I have also recently started redoing the wirings on my guitars and I?m starting to do wirings for close friends and this has worked perfectly well! I really recommend this jack whether you're just upgrading or just need a replacement, its cheap and It really does the job well! RECOMMEND!

MY
High quality, very firm
Max Y. 03.11.2022
Solid construction, excellent snap and fit. The locking part needs a bit of use to wear in properly and open easily with one hand, but it's secure for sure. I very much prefer this look to football plates at any rate.

Great plugs
Anonymous 18.03.2015
I used these a few years ago to change a couple of XLR plugs on a multicore I had. The idea being i could use them to plug guitar in my control room and then patch it through to an amp room. As you would expect these worked great, the quality of build was great and they are easily soldered into position.

They also have become very useful for a headphone feed and i now have it mostly plugged up as that. Great value for money and as you would expect from such an established company the manufacturing quality is very good. All in all a great set of plugs that are great value for money.

If you are looking for a connector to your hardware do not spend too much time looking for. This will give you everything you need. Functionality, quality, small size, light weight and great performance.

Works as intended

Easy to solder. Great fit. Only small gripe would be that the pressure needed to push the red tab to release the Jack is a bit more than I’d prefer
