If you're a complete beginner to drumming- this is probably okay. But if you're an experienced drummer looking for a practice kit to do any amount of substantial drumming on- this is not it. The sound module is awful, the hi-hat stand works half the time, the mesh pads are okay but above all the build quality is HORRENDOUS. The rim around the snare drum is already torn apart from doing rimshots, the snare can barely stay in place without constantly having to re-tighten it, the ENTIRE frame is constantly being loosened and having to be re-adjusted and re-tightened- I can't even RESELL this because of how bad the kit has gotten from this cheapo hardware. Just absolutely frustrated. Half a thousand dollars down the drain.

K
Unfortunate Experience
KaiRB 02.07.2020
Unfortunately, I didn't have a very good experience with this drum kit and have had to return it.
I was in high hopes with this kit after seeing video demos on YouTube, as well as demos on this site as well, however didn't have any of that once it arrived.
The kit itself once setup looks great, and feels great mesh-wise, however, I was sent the wrong part for the snare drum which was a sign straight away, and the hi-hat, despite setting it up correctly multiple times, also was not working at all.
The sound, even on max volume I could barely hear it through any headphones. I had to chuck it through my 4x12 Marshall Amp to be able to actually hear it, would not work with anything else.
For whatever reason on random kits as well, it would keep playing different sounds on the kick drum, including on the "Metal" kit, it would keep adding on this cheery-go-lucky sound effect as well, which just made it sound awful for what would be a "Metal" kit.
The only kit I actually liked was the Marimba one... it's the only one that actually sounded good in my opinion, and that's saying something for what should be a drum kit.
So to conclude, I might've just had a dodgy kit, but in my opinion it was definitely not worth the wait and excitement, and definitely not worth the £529.

Dead out of the box

Wrong power supply for USA.
Substitute p/s will not power it up.
Cust support is not helpful.
Impossible to just box it up and send it back. It's packaged like a puzzle with 13 boxes. Complete waste of money at this point. bad 1st impression of this company.

MPS 850 Drum Kit
SebaE 08.02.2021
Another customer from the UK described in a post back in July (2nd) exactly the very same issue that I experienced with this kit: "for whatever reason on random kits as well, it would keep playing different sounds on the kick drum, including on the "Metal" kit, it would keep adding on this cheery-go-lucky sound effect as well, which just made it sound awful for what would be a "Metal" kit".

When I contacted, Thomann customer service kept repeating the same thing: "this is the way the kit is programmed and meant to work, there is nothing we can do about it" entailing that hitting a bass drum and getting a random sound (electric bass guitar, keyboards, etc.) is perfectly normal!

What a mistake!
Ludde66 11.02.2021
My own mistake!
,,,even if I asked Thomann of expected quality level prior to purchase,,,
As reference I already have an extended upgraded Roland TD17 and instead of purchasing a second one of same sort I thought I could use the Millennium MPS850 as a practicing set.
Bought this set a year ago and have used it maximum 50 hours.
The set works but would think twice before expecting to much of the quality.
One gets what you pay for and it’s not too much. So far the following has happened.
-Mesh quality is rather poor and already after 20 hours I needed to change a few.
-The rubber around the drum Rims gets broken and 2 must be changed.
-Hi-hat has stopped working properly and do loose signal quality/strength to module.

Sound from module is ok but I use the possibility to extend functionality via MIDI.

But all in all I am truly disappointed and should have ordered another set.
As said, My mistake!
