Very handy to distribute MIDI from your soundcard
OSTU23 15.05.2020
I bought this to split up my midi out to connect various machines in my studio.
As many machines don't come with a MIDI through option it's impossible to daisy chain them, so I needed a splitter to connect them to my one midi out on my soundcard.
This device can do other things like filtering certain MIDI data, but I haven't used those yet. (I'm relatively new to larger MIDI setups)
As a split-box it is easy to use, basically plug and play. Connect the input to your MIDI out and then connect your machines to the 4 outputs.
There's no need for a PSU as the box is powered via the MIDI out. (Apparently there are devices where this won't work, so you may want to check this first, but my guess is most will. Again - check!)
The box does feel a bit plastic-y, so while it's good for studio use and the occasional live performance, I'm not sure how well it would deal with heavy gigging/touring.
I also find the placement of the LED that shows incoming data next to the input - which many will want to have on the back like me, a bit unfortunate, as it's not very well visible.
Other than that no complaints. At the price this is a very useful, decent little box.

Good but fragile
Newcroft 21.10.2024
I bought this to split a midi signal from a PaintAudio Midi Captain to several devices, some of which only had IN not THRU sockets. At first I didn't think it worked because it wouldn't power up, then I realised that some midi cables do not pass power so make sure you try a few. The only criticism is that it's made of fairly cheap plastic so I have positioned it on my pedalboard where it is unlikely to get a whack. They're not expensive though, so replace as needed - does a great job, so worth it.

Power needed!
Peak 30.01.2018
Works good, if you have power from your main midi in cable.
I was surprised that it haven't worked with Miditech's own Midilink mini and few cheap midi interface manufacturers-for beginners in midi especially- are giving warning/notice about whenever their product provides midi power or not.

From all other synth sources-Volcas (DIY midi out), Arturia's sequencers, Octatrack and so, I haven't problem at all.
Having midi splitter (and filter) without batteries/power cables is great and I would buy another in some time.

Still doing its job
The Problem 23.12.2019
Have this thing at the back of my looper pedalboard to get 3 loopers midi synced.
Own it for more then 4 years, always works. Plug and play. Not super sturdy but good enough. The filter options can be very handy. It does what it needs to do for a good price.

Its light and small enough, the signal distribution works.
That's all to be said about such a small thing :)

It does exactly what I needed, acting like a MIDI router and filter. Only 4 stars for the build quality which is a bit on the flimsy side, but no problems so far.
