Does the job but kinda short
Done a few jobs with this one after initially being surprised of how small it is (note to self: read specs before buying). Works well on both nickel and stainless frets but definetely should have been longer to get a proper even levelling.

Fret file without the handle
The fret file does its job, it files frets. It's good though I used it only once so I can't say how long it will last but so far it seems to be good. The problem is that it comes with the handle so I had to glue it to a piece of wood to act as a handle which makes one side unusable.
That's why I give it 4 stars because there is no handle.

Effective fret file
I've had to deal with less-than-perfectly leveled frets a few times in the last few years, and this file - along with a leveling tool and some polishing materials, is what you need to get them leveled (and get that guitar action lowered afterwards). The build quality is on par with some much more expensive files I have in my kit. The one thing that's not clear to me is how to attach the file to a handle or holder. Most files have a system - albeit crude - but this one escapes me. I've ended up holding it with a tea towel on occasion.
