This is a wonderful instrument to be a "lower end" Martin, it sounds more expensive than it is. I didn't like the other ziricote model I had tried in the shop because the sound was too "dry", a bit like staccato to my ears if you see what I mean, so I made a bet that the boomy quality of a dreadnought would correct that, and I was right. I am sending this back exclusively because the size is not improving my back pain, but it breaks my heart. Very beautiful dark wood too. Only downside, it's heavier than other models, but that is relative. Still lighter than the X2E. Sounds amazing and "boomy", if you like that.

Martin D 13e

Beautiful guitar with dissapointing setup
TM1973 05.11.2023
This is ny first Martin acoustic, and my expectations were high even though it is “just” a Road Series model. The finish of the D13 is really beautiful, and it comes in a nice and solid gigbag. However, I found the setup of the guitar to be dissappointing for a product in this price range, and I am quite surprised that Martin (and Thomann) would ship a product like this. The action is so high that the guitar is almost unplayable of the box, so you have to be ready to spend a setup at your local guitar shop or luthier before you have a usable instrument. With a tross rod adjustment and a saddle sanding to lower the action it should become usable - but that should not be necessary with a high quality acoustic.
