It's now one of my favourite amps!

I own several good tube amplifiers and this is no exception. In my opinion, the sound quality of the silver jubilee is excellent, I own a Mesa Boogie Triple Rectifier and used them together the gain structure of these two amps complete each other really nicely.

I mainly use guitars with humbuckers and they all sound great and you can easily cover any rhythm and lead tones from the 60s to 90s with it.

The only thing to remember pretty much with any Marshall (or tube 100W amp) is that they are loud and they (are designed to) sound better when played at a decent volume.

Brilliant

The head came to me in perfect condition. As far as how it sounds, I paired this head with its corresponding cab, and it sounds great, perfect 80s hard rock tone, the eq is very sensitive which means you get a wide range of sound. But I have just two complaints. Firstly, for my kind of tone I like more gain, this head has great gain but for my taste I would rather have more gain or a more aggressive gain like an EVH III head, but that's just for my taste. Secondly, although it is a two channel amp, to get to the second channel you have to pull a couple knobs, and it wont sound good because the bass mids and treble are set to sound good distorted, which makes the clean sound sounds a bit off unless you change the eq, which means if you are playing over a backing track it will clean channel is pretty much useless, its much better to have a two channel amp which has a separate bass mids and treble for each channel, so basically this head is really a one channel amp, the second one is useless for me. Overall, this is a fantastic amp head which gives you a perfect 80s hard rock tone, clean channel is good on its own, but has some issues transitioning from distortion to clean which I spoke about. I'm happy with my purchase and its a brilliant amp.

Classic Marshall sound

The 2555X is an instant classic Marshall sounding tube amp head. Ample headroom and great crunch sound that even goes up to distortion areas when cranked. Takes pedals well, the eq area which is global is simple but effective. FX Loop is a bonus, as is its price.

Wow!

I've always wanted a Marshall and this amp gives me the Marshall tone that I hear in my head. I have a jcm800 and I love it, it's aggressive and raw. However, the 2555x is quite more versatile, it gives you more gain and compression, which mean its easier to play and the eq is very responsive. The 50 watt mode gives more compression but if you want that thick tone go for the 100watt mode. All in all I'm very satisfied with this amp and also the quick shipping by Thomann. I'll definitely be a returning customer.
