Fantastic bass
The roasted maple neck of this instrument is a delight. The rolled edges make the neck feel incredibly comfortable in the fretting hand.
The construction is really solid, and the strings ring out in all positions.
The truss rod is easy to adjust, thanks to the adjustment notch at the body end of the neck / body joints.
I've received loads of complements regarding the sound from audience members, and band members.
Sire basses are without a doubt the best valentines instruments on the market right now. I have bought three different Sire basses in the past year, and that are all great instruments.

This is a very good bass
I wanted another ‘budget’ P bass with roundwounds as I have one with flats. So as I know Sire’s quality already I pulled the trigger on this bass.
My thoughts: lovely neck, slim and smooth,
Just a solid nice instrument, nothing spectacular but nothing annoying, a very good bass.
The red is slightly too red for my liking ( not a fiesta red a la Fender) but that’s just me being fussy. Do I want to play it when I see it on the stand? Absolutely.
I changed the split pickups to some Bill Lawrence USA jobs but they weren’t hugely different to the stock ones.
If you’re considering it, I can recommend. It’s a really nice bass and I’ve recorded some professionally release tracks with it. However I’ve just bought a HB jazz bass for less money which is arguably as good if not a better play. (See my other review).
This is lighter in weight than the HB though which may sway some players.
Thomann would be advised to state the weight of instruments in the tech specs.
Having said that I frigging love this shop, and thank god I don’t live in their vicinity otherwise I’d be broke and divorced.
