Perfect classical guitar for folks with smaller hands
Thomas-99 12.04.2023
First of all, a solid top classical guitar for this price is pretty crazy. They must have made some serious compromises elsewhere!? Well, as far as I can tell, not really. It actually feels like a quality guitar. The finish is almost perfect, string action is fine and zero problems with intonation. And it sounds good too. When I got the guitar, I couldn't put it down for several hours, that's how good it felt.

The 48 mm nut width makes a huge difference - having small hands, I found it very easy to play fingerstyle with this guitar. In my experience, most steel-string acoustic guitars' fretboards are a bit too narrow for fingerstyle (42–43 mm nut width), but on the other hand, most classical guitars' (51–52 mm) fretboards are way too wide for me. But this width of 48 mm is just perfect, for example: I am able wrap my thumb around to press the low E string for bass notes. For reference, my glove size is about S.

The solid mahogany top makes for a sweet, woody sound that really pleases my ears. The rosette is not as bright as it may seem like from the pictures, but it does shine beautifully when light hits it right. Also, the top wood is not as bright as it seems like on the product page. I recommend googling the guitar for a more realistic look. The wood is actually slightly darker and it has more "tone" lookswise.

The tuners feel okay. They do their job which is really all you can ask for in this price point. As the nut and bridge are NuBone (and not plastic), there is no need to change them which is a big plus. Fret ends feel a bit sharp, but that is to be expected in this price range. Anyway, it's an easy fix to do if one has the tools and courage to do it.

I can definitely recommend getting this guitar if a solid mahogany top, narrower neck and a woody sound is what you are looking for in a classical guitar.

Schöne Gitarre mit leichten Schwächen
Nicky Nameless 30.11.2022
