K&M 23150-3 Desk Microphone Stand

I got these for our Galaxy MSVCs (personal monitors) and they are perfect for the job, the stands sit on the floor and regardless of whether we're standing or sitting the monitors are out of sight lines and don't block your view of the audience. All stands can be pushed over but unless you knock into one of these they'll stay upright.

Our galaxy micro spots weigh just over a kilo each and one stand can hold one micro spot fine, but I've tried it with a slightly different monitor that's a little heavier and the pole sinks down I guess I'm lucky that I'm under the weight threshold.

It's not what they're designed for but they work great for me, I think that even with a microphone one of these stands would be really stable.

I bought this stand for my Beyerdynamic m99 dynamic microphone with a windshield attached. The microphone and windshield together are quite large and relatively heavy. This stand provides a solid way to hold the microphone on my desk.

The stand has three nice features:

1. It has solid metal construction in the important places, with some solid plastic items for clamping the height of the stand.
2. Tripod legs that open and close with a re-assuring 'click' when locked open. The feet are supported by solid rubber feet for stability. The tripod legs provide a really nice stable base for the microphone — I haven't had any problems with the microphone wobbling or falling over.
3. A height adjustable central column is easy to move up and down and lock solidly with a quick clamp. The top of the column has a good quality metal screw fitting for your microphone holder thread attachment.

I've used this for a number of months and it has performed reliably. As it's really compact it fits easily into my bag together with cables, audio recorder and microphones.
