Great little piece of kit for hanging the horn off on your mic stand. Cheap to buy too. The stage can be tight at times with a lot of band members and gear and it's easy for someone to stand on a brass instrument on the ground especially in dim lighting. This device gets the horn off the ground and it looks great to the audience too. You can leave it on the stand but it won't go in your car without getting snagged on something, so you have to take it off. Screwing it on and off is another task so a clip on version would be even better. I stopped bringing 2 horns and went back to my K&M kone stand but even still I carry this with me and use it when the stage is crowded and I'm concerned for the trumpet. Excellent.

Slight droop, but another very solid product from K&M

I use this for hanging my Bb trumpet during practices in my flat where I am using a Silent Brass mute system and in-bell stands are a faff. It's a convenient motion to hang it below the stand (fixed to the stand upright) as I flip a page or rest, and I've also tried attaching it to the side of a flat-edge cabinet.

The end of the screw features a curved piece, so the clamp works best on round tube sections (like a music stand), but it did manage to grip a flat surface, too. It has a tendency to droop slightly from horizontal, but even with initial nervousness it never feels like it will fall off and damage the horn, and as long as it's placed gently the horn does not swing or knock against the stand. As with all K&M products I've found is extremely well-made and has reassuring weightiness and solidity; probably the only brand I'd trust not to drop my trumpet!

Another great product from K&M. I use it in my band during live gigs and it's very handy because it allows me to rest my Bb trumpet during the songs in which I am playing guitar or synths.

Hanger is very sturdy and well-covered with some kind of sponge to protect your instrument from scratching and damaging.

If you need a reliable stand/hanger which allows you quick change of instruments (like in my case) go for it!

a good hang

The holder does what it's supposed to. I wish the distance to the clamp would be a bit larger, because if you attach it to a vertical pole/stick, the bell of the trumpet might very well hit/rub against the said pole/stick, so you can end up with a bumped-up bell eventually.

Interesting Idea

I bought this trumpet hook as I cannot find a conventional stand which will fit my soprano cornet without either getting stuck in the bell or not fitting at all.

This has solved my problem and allows me to put my instrument down within easy reach rather than on the floor.

The only problem is that one would have to be careful the instrument doesn't swing about too much and hit the stand it is attached to. As long as the music stand can take the extra weight this is perfect and does the job very well.

Simply awesome.

This device has been perfect for my cornet that usually has a mute in it. So easy to attach to a mic stand, and great to be able to just hang the horn on it while I use a trumpet for other songs.

If you add a clip with a soft receiving part, which will be attached to the rack in order to lean on the bell-it will be perfect.

Except the fact that the trumpet sometimes hits the mic stand if not hanged slowly, in general it does it's job.
