Good quality but a little too big for the MixPre-3
ttoommmmiiee 06.03.2020
Over all a good quality product however I found that it is too big for the mixpre-3 and so it is not possible to fasten it tightly in place. Simple solution is to pad it out with some foam but as it was advertised as designed for the MixPre series I was a little disappointed.

Does the job

Got this and the MixPre-6 II for field recording.
It feels very robust, it has an internal rigid frame and a couple of velcro straps suspend the MixPre keeping it secure inside.

Without the front pocket attached it’s sleek enough to feel like a typical satchel bag or would even fit as a large bumbag. The strap could do with more padding.

It’s quiet enough when not being adjusted but; the zippers are smaller rounded type that can’t be opened silently, the velcro is loud with a strong grip, the material could be quieter it has that low ‘O’ (around 500Hz) rustle typical of nylon duffle bags.

All six sides can be open to access. The bottom for battery/SD access and front (for mounting camera) requires decoupling the largest area of velcro so this needs modding with tape if you’re working in quieter environments. The top has a detachable transparent piece that looks okay but the way it’s attached feels a bit of an afterthought. The back hole, for accessing tripod mount point (though I’ve my USB battery in the way there) has no cover which is a shame.

So overall could do with some improvements but I only know of two bags that fit the MixPre and this looks the better of the two.
