Seriously good hybrid fun!

Having looked at a number of small amp heads from the likes of Orange and, er..... Orange, I'd seen the Joyo range reviewed on Thomann's Youtube channel. It's worth viewing to see which amp type suits your playing sound/ style best.

The Atomic is really versatile. The clean channel is super clear with the gain turned down. and just a hint of break-up with the gain turned up when you dig in. Your drive pedals will work great going into the front.

The drive channel gives you a classic British (AC) crunch sound and works well with the tone control, allowing you to dial in some classic AC tones.

The real bonus to these amp heads is the effects loop. I use a looper and reverb pedal and the fidelity and quality of the sound is fantastic. And for a 20 watt amp there is plenty of power/volume, adequate enough for playing live at a small gig.

The only disadvantage I can see is having no EQ to shape the sound. That being said, the sound straight out is pretty well balanced, and for this price, these things are tonnes of fun.

This amp has brought Joyo
WSquires 22.06.2020
This is a great little amp. The build looks sturdy (time will tell) and the range of features beats most of the competition in the same price range.

I bought this because of the clean channel, which is excellent, and for the effects loop. The loop, as others have said here, takes pedals really well and with a bit of reverb and some extra equalisation, I can obtain just the tone I want with room for experimentation too.

Paired with a Vox BC108 8-inch speaker it gets plenty loud pretty quickly. It's more than enough for home practice and I even found a Youtube video of it being gigged in a small venue where it seemed to perform well (within the limits of the recording).

The Bluetooth connects easily with my Android phone so there's easy access to plenty of backing/practice tracks. For the money I find it hard to find fault.

Good enough
sepulchered 24.09.2020
The amp is good enough for most of the cases for hobbyist guitarist and in some cases even professional. Very sturdy metal housing, good solid knobs and switches (even though they are quite small) while being really small.
Regarding functions it has one awesome feature: fx loop. It has built-in bluetooth so you can play along with any music you like (though it's not good that you don't have some line in for playing with groovebox eg.).
In terms of sound - it sounds good enough overall. I mean it could be better and cleaner but as well for the price it's really great. I actually would recommend this one to anyone from beginner to professional guitar players.
