Only usable after replacing parts. Still a good value for money after tweaking.

I'm a violin student and already own a medium level instrument and was only looking for a way to study quietly at night.
I was a bit disappointed with the overall quality and usability of the violin. Honestly the strings that came on the violin are really bad sounding, two violin pegs had small cracks and the tailpiece was totally useless. At first I didn't really liked the overall tone of the violin and replaced strings only to realise that the tuning pegs were really difficult to use and that the screws on the tailpiece were so small and stiff that I couldn't actually use them. Needless to say that I was not able to play or use the violin out of the box. At this price point I bought a new high end tailpiece, new pegs and a good set of strings. As I have adjusted the pegs myself speeded additional 35¤ on tailpiece and pegs and 36¤ on new strings. Right now I must say that the violin is quite nice, easy to play and stay in tune and I even like the sound without earphones (wich I use to practice late night), and trough the earphones. I watched one other review stating that the sound had some noise in it, but if the level is kept in the middle it's ok. My review is 3 stars, (out of the box is actually 1 or 2), only because even with the additional amount of money spent, in the end I'm still very much below the price point of high end silent violins, and I didn't wanted to spend 500+¤ on a practice at night violin.

Electric violin

This was a Christmas present for my daughter and I couldn't have been more delighted with the purchase. My daughter loves playing it, the visual and sound quality are both excellent. This was my first purchase from Thomann and they made it a very easy and enjoyable process. Thank you.

Nice bargain for the price

The best violin you can buy for this price.
Pros
The Shadow pickups on it performs really well, it sounds really nice, u might notice some extra noise or gain when u push the volume to the highest point.
It's really nicely built, so no issues at all.
It's kinda heavy, not totally i've seen lots of electric violins that were way way heavier, but it's not that light either.
Cons
The battery compartment is really bad in built design, u will have a headache just trying to fit the battery inside and seal it well and you won't feel 100% safe about it because of it's plastic cover bad design.
The Bow that came with it have a really good wood but the hair on it is really bad, it's has too little amount of hair like it has been used for years before it came to me
Overall quality is nice, it won't be an issue to change the bow hair for a cheap price, but my only concerns is the battery cover.

Good sounds for cheap violin
Anonymous 26.04.2016
It's a nice violin to practice in my room, even at night. No one next to my door will hear this violin.

I never play an electric violin before, so I cannot compare it with other electric violins. I used to play an acoustic violin and sometimes I use a violin pick-up for the sound system. For the music I play, I think my acoustic violin sounds slightly better, but the electric violin is a big advantage for me to have more flexible time to practice at night.

Another big advantage for me is that I can combine the sound of my violin and my favourite MP3 because there is an aux input to the violin. :-)

The battery compartment is not bad. I think it's a bit too small for the size of battery. I never close it because it always opened by itself right after I close it. The batter never comes out of the compartment although I didn't close it. So it's not a problem.

I am not a fidler, i am a guitarist, however when i saw this insrtument on site it liked me, i decided to buy for start practice. Why not try playing the violin?))) I use it around 10 monthes time to time, and it very good for beginners and silence home practice. Quality is good, sound for beginner is normal. I recommend for buying.

Good beginner violin
A_C_S 28.02.2018
This is my first violin and I think it's not bad for the price. I appreciate that I can play it quietly in my flat without disturbing the neighbours. The sound is okay and I think it looks quite cool!
Disadvantages are: it's a bit heavier than a normal violin and the pegs for tuning are very hard to turn, making tuning a bit hard.

An E-violin for a starter
Tiko 29.03.2014
This was my first violin. It's pretty heavy, but it sounds okay and stays in tune okay. Good for a beginner, this'll get you started. I haven't played mine since I got an acoustic violin, though.

For the price a real treat
Anonymous 24.02.2014
For the price you have to pay you get a real neat violin including case, bow and headphones. It plays fine and possibly is (e.g. if you are an beginner and you don't want to spend too much money on your first violin) the best choice out there!
