Great value, and easily modded to suit your sound.

Great value product!

For the money you get a Celestion Vintage 30 in a tidy looking cabinet. With the driver costing almost the whole of the price, that's a cabinet virtually free. And it's not a cheapo cab either. 18mm plywood, open back construction, very light for the unit, convenient to carry around. What features can you get on a simple cabinet design like this one? It's covered in a grained Tolex finish which is fairly lightweight but neat. The front panel has a decent grille cloth. There's a handle on top, a single 6.35mm jack socket on an inset plate on the back and a small plate with the details written on it! What more do you want?

I bought 2 of these as a stopgap for my Hughes & Kettner Tubemeister 36 head until I could afford better units. I can tell you, after rehearsing through them a few times, they are here to stay. Soundwise they are a great partner for the amp, crystal clear cleans and raw loud overdrive. The only issue I could identify is that, with my amp, initially the sound didn't really contain too much bass, the H&K bass control had only a limited effect on the sound. So I tried a simple mod. I just got a 42cm square of 18mm board, added a couple of bits of wood strip to complete the rear panel mounting lip, and tidily closed the back of one of them in. Instantly I got more bass on tap, as you would expect, which can be dialed in and out now. I still have the same raw upper sound but can extend it deeper when I want. Might be worth remembering if your sound is a little lacking in grunt, though I suspect most amps won't have that problem.

Overall this is a great sounding cabinet, can be easily modded to suit your taste, is easily transportable, well made, and ridiculously good value for money.

Great Build Quality,Great Price. Unless your into heavy metal or good cleans, not the right cab
Winnereuro1000pls 16.11.2024
I'm not that happy with the Cabinet since it's not the sound I wanted, but it is a great clean sound Cabinet and the sound I want can just be fixed with a proper distortion pedal or adjusting my amps EQ
I will keep it as it is a very open sounding Cabinet, but this also means fizzy high end for distortion which is what I dont like but a eq adjustment can fix that so it's double edged sword.

Very nice

This cab is, as you can see incredibly good value for money. The speaker is a full fat genuine Vintage 30 (obviously the speaker is made in China but what would you expect for the money...) which some love and others don't. Either way, I think that it is a speaker any guitarist should at the very least try out. It sounds fantastic with gain, very tight with a strong mid-range, but it is usable for just about anything.
As for the cab, It is obviously no miracle of craftsmanship, the walls are thin and the tolex looks a bit weird but everything is functional, sturdy and reliable. It really doesn't feel like a premium product, but I'm actually liking it's simplicity since it is my "working" cab and It gets carried around a lot (about three times a week). I like that I don't have to worry about a few scratches here and there which are certainly present after a few months of such use.
I would however rather buy a 16 ohm version since it works better for my setup, so If that was a thing, then that would be quite nice.
Overall, it is a bargain, so if you're considering buying a V30, then get this cab with it virtually for free.

A really good cab for it's price, there is nothing to add, it works really well, if you use in a little bedroom like me you have to buy some sound absorbing panel to glue on the wall behind the cab

Insane amount of value
Synic42 08.08.2019
Unfortunately Harley Benton doesn't make a 112 closed back cabinet with a Vintage V30 speaker, so I decided to buy this model. Even though this cab doesn't fill my needs, it's still a great product. I will probably get the slanted closed back 212 in the near future instead.

Well worth the price.
The Tone Lounge 31.03.2021
The appeal, of course, is the Greenback speaker. It's a classic for a good reason. I wasn't too sure if this was going to cut it for me, but being on a tight budget, I decided to buy this and figure it out later.

I was not disappointed! I took the time to "break in" the speaker properly, and then tried some recording with it and it sounds as it should, great! The cab is not too heavy, and is not too big either.
I have a smaller studio space, and this fits well within the confines of my current space.

I am using the G112 mainly for home recording purposes, so I can not comment on durability of the Tolex on the cab, but one can only assume that gradual wear and tear will do what it does.

If you need an extra cab with an excellent speaker, or if you want to add another sound to your amp, this makes a whole lot of sense. Plus, the price makes it hard to argue with.

Good rock sound
laurentium 18.11.2020
I would recommend this cabinet for someone playing high gain music, as it takes drive sound really good. I, myself, was looking more for a wider range of sounds cabinet, that would do well from rock to jazz, but obviously this isn't what I was looking for. At least for my taste. But I had to try it, for the price )
For jazz (traditional one) I would say it sounds pretty thin, and misses a lot that low end. But this thing makes it good for higher gain sound, as it doesn't muffle the overall sound, when played overdriven.
This being sad, I am not saying it is a bad cabinet, it just doesn't suit my style. I would say the cabinet itself is pretty well built. Plywood, thick, a real Celestion Vintage 30 inside.
But I would love to see a more of a all-purpose sounds cabinet from Harley Benton, less focused on high gain, but also with a good quality speaker from Celestion, or other top brands.

Solid ad F@@k !!!!!
PolMol 21.12.2018
Just perfect for home use, pretty solid for gigging as well. Is not too heavy but either is not too thin/cheap, so it have good resonance and you can carry her around in your car without the fear he can get damaged. the V30 inside sounds very good, no rly need to go for more expensive 1x12 cap if you're looking for a v30 sound
