A Quality Overdrive
ChrisH2 19.03.2021
I have not used the pedal in a band context (no rehearsals or gigs due to Covid 19) therefore so far I have only used it at quiet volumes at home. I run it into a Two Notes Le Clean pre-amp and then into the input of a Quilter Tone Block 200 with the gain set to a line level which is in turn connected to a separate 1x12 closed back speaker cab. All I can say is that even with the limitations of this signal chain it sounds good and also responds well when a treble boost is used in front of it. I must admit that even when playing with a band, the volume levels are such that I do not use any of my overdrives to push an amp on the edge of break-up into a full overdriven sound, rather I use them as tone shapers to mimic an overdriven amp and I see no reason why this pedal would not do an excellent job used in this way. The quality of the product is good and this pedal has been around for a few years now and always gets good reviews by reviewers on YouTube so the track record of this overdrive speaks for itself. Must be honest - I would love to hear it live pushing a cranked amp into full overdrive though.

Porn

This pedal is awesome. Yes, it does take a little bit of dynamics away, but a) much less than other overdrive pedals (tubescreamer for instance) b) in return you will get more overdriven sound once you hit stronger in the strings. I love everything about it so far, mix of this and tele/LP/335 + Fender Champ is an absolute porn to my ears, plus it's sooo much fun to play. I don't have to crank my amp to 11 to get that sweet overdriven sound I love so much. It's not meant for heavier music, but who cares, it didn't purchase it for such purpose. Do recommend!

Great circuit

The sound of this pedal feels so organic that you instantly fall in love with it. It falls under the transparent category, low gain, with a very subtle mid-scoop. Tons of mojo and character here, it’s really impressive. Now, if Greer could use a silent switch and move the jack in/outs to the top, this pedal would be perfect.

Magic in a box
Andrew822 24.07.2023
I have tried many pedals looking for that transparent OD sound. Now I understand what it was I was looking for. Look no further than this killer pedal. Yes its expensive but the reputation that it has built up online is totally true. The first strum with all knobs at 12 oclock you make with this thing on will be enough to justify the price tag (kind of) Transparent just means when you turn on the pedal it does not make your tone sound like a different amp so this pedal is perfect for using with your clean tone or on the verge of break up sound I used a blues junior. Its very well made and so it should be for the price but now Ive tried it for myself its worth every penny and is a keeper for sure.

Low gain magic

In the low-gain/transparent camp, this is hard to beat. Supposedly based on a Timmy, it pairs especially well with Vox amps.
