Graph Tech BLACK TUSQ XL Bass 4-String

I used this on my Squier Precision Special and the swap was pretty straightforward, no need to file or trim the nut or the slots. Sonically I don't think there's much difference but since I upgraded many things in this bass, I decided to replace the nut. Overall pleased.

I used this nut to replace the plastic nut on my Harley Benton JB-75. It fitted without needing to trim the height or width, just needed a bit of glue to stay in place.

The material feels good and should help against string binding, the strings go through pretty smooth.

The tusq (nut) fits like a glove and looks good in black on the Squier Fretless Jazz Bass, same color as the neck surface. My only issue is that I am using Thomastik JF344 (043 - 056 - 070 - 100) flatwound strings and the "A" and often the "D" gives a buzz when used as open strings. Maybe they are thinner that a heavier roundwound set.

Had to make a couple of adjustments to get it to fit my bass, but that was super easy because the material is great to work with. Very happy with this.
