Awesome replacement for my Epiphone Les Paul Custom Pro
Rain214 05.06.2019
I'm really glad I made this upgrade to my Epiphone Les Paul Custom Pro, first of all it look so damn good especially the vintage style buttons but a gold metal!!!, The built quality is really good and you can really say that it is made very well. It also helps with the tuning stability and the weight is perfect on this machine heads. Just a warning, I widen the holes on my Epiphone because this is not an exact drop ins to the Epiphone and I have to widen the holes a little bit, but I think with Gibson it is a perfect fit. Great upgrade and quality and it looks modern vintage. I really loved it!!!

Standard excellent quality

I bought these tuners to replace a Gotoh set that was originally on one of my archtops. The reason was to add weight/mass to the headstock to improve the sound of the instrument.

As far as I know, Grovers are the heaviest tuners on the market and installing them did the trick.

Tuners, i.e. their weight, can have quite a dramatic effect on the sound of a guitar. Some guitars need more weight to sound their best, some need less. Weight reduction can also be accomplished by using wooden or plastic tuning buttons.

So, apart from featuring standard quality and tuning stability, Grover tuners are the ticket in case you want to add mass to your headstock to improve the tone of your guitar.

Top Notch!

These are Grover for Gibson, great quality.... I used these on an EJ-200 and was able to use its tuners (Grovers too but maybe not quite this quality though I saw no difference) on an '89 Sheraton which needed replacements...perfect fit, great quality, will probably see the EJ out...
Note though they may not directly fit older Gibsons so check your measurements as you can now get repro wafflebacks and various other types with the Tulip head and different screw positions..

Nice and heavy

Gibson's Grovers are renown for their weight and contribution to a guitar's sound. Even though this type is the cheapest of Grovers, I can say this was an excellent buy.
This is what makes your guitar stay in tune for the whole duration of your gig. no cheap ripoff can come even close to this.

Tuning Sense

not only do they look great they are great, why suffer with bad tuning it only turns you off playing your guitar, even putting them on less expensive instruments can make a difference you dont have to spend thousands to have a decent sound if it stays in tune
you will find yourself enjoying the guitar, hope this helps.

Nice replacement for the standard Gibson Grovers
Anonymous 20.01.2015
I bought these to not only change the hardware colour from silver (nickel) to gold on my Midtown Custom, but to also get the 'tulip' shaped tuner keys.

The tuners were a direct replacement for the standard nickel rounded button Grovers, so no new screw holes required, very simple to fit. The tuners are of a very good quality, with no slipping or tuning issues are fitting.

Arrived in standard Gibson packaging, shipped quickly by Thomann, would recommend these for both a change in tuner button shape, or a direct swap if you are performing a gold hardware conversion on your Gibson Les Paul / Midtown or similar guitar with Grovers fitted as standard.

Solid tuning, look great
Christopher892 17.05.2013
I bought these mostly for the aesthetics, as the keystone pegs look much nicer than the kidney bean ones. They are also a solid tuner, with no slippage or build problems. Recommended for sure.
