Inconsistent

I've played with a couple of tourte mutes and every next one feels worse in quality. I hade a mute that didnt have cutouts for the strings to go in once :D.

This time the mould was rough, I had to cutout some extra material and the overall feel of the finish was unsatisfying. Bubbly and rough texture.

But it functions as you would expect it. I just dont like the look on it on the Pollmann im using.

A mute that doesn't mute
Anonymous 27.02.2016
Bought this to make practicing a little more considerate of those around me. Only to find that this "mute" doesn't do anything other than act as decoration.

It's bulky, so you'll think it's gonna do the job, but it doesn't. It's a pain to put on (compared to the other mutes available) as it needs to have the strings fed through it and then it flips over the top of the bridge. That's where it just sits there. Pizz, no difference in volume with no dampening at all. Arco, again, absolutely no difference at all.

Easy and fast to put and remove, so you can do it in those "few bars" of time you have :)
Sound quality is not as good compared to the wooden mute, but this is way more handy.
