Very good pickups
Chas7 12.08.2019
I bought a roadworn tele a while back and I upgraded the pickups to these Texas specials.
A big improvement to my ears anyway. If you’ve tried the Tex mex pickups, you’ll like these. They are great for blues, rock, country and jazz. I tried Texas specials on strats but prefer them in teles somehow. Each to their own I guess. They have just about enough heat for my liking.
They will definitely be an instant upgrade on tele standards for sure
There’s enough vids on YouTube etc, hey, check em out

fender texas specials

after playing with my standard telecaster pups for 2 years i decided that it was time to treat myself and have an upgrade. I first looked online to see what was available and better that what sounded best. i was won over by the fender texas specials due to sound quality and the variety of different styles that they could compete with, not to mention that they are used by many of my favourite guitar players. When i received the pups it was really easy to install them and only took a couple of hours to get the guitar back up and running. the neck pickup has a really nice bit to it and is very hot which is great for that classic blues tone and the bridge pickup i found was good for country music.

Great pickups from Fender
Martin4035 26.06.2015
Fitted these to my Stormshadow Tele, and have been quite happy with them. They're a little hotter than some, but still fundamentally a Tele pickup, so bright and twangy, but with a bit more going on in the mids.
If you play really clean, or for some other reason want a lower output pickup, then you might prefer the Nocaster set, which is a tiny bit sweeter, but if you want to play a more varied range of styles including heavy rock, then this set is ideal. When you add overdrive, these have a little bit less of that scratchiness you can get with Tele pickups. With the tone rolled back a bit, you can play metal on these, but they'll still do a nice country clean.
Quality wise, they're 100%, as you would expect from Fender.

I expected them to be a bit louder or maybe my guitar is just made not to be loud. Otherwise these are a great uprgrade from any build-in pickups in most of guitars.

Telecaster Upgrade

Can't recommend these enough. I have put these in two different telecasters now and have been very pleased with the results. These have a slightly hotter sound to them so if you are after the stereotypical tele sound they might not be for you. However if you like your sound with a bit of muscle then these are the ones to go for.

A
powerful telecaster
Anonymous 14.09.2016
I used this pickup set on a mexican classic telecaster that had a vintage sound pickups.
I was looking for more output and more mids,
This pickup set works great for classic rock or texas blues, but chage the "voice" of your telecaster.
If you need a twangy '50's sound look somewhere else.
If you need to cut through the mix of a band, using a crunch or medium distorted sound this set could be useful.
