A pretty pretty nice guitar
Steebz 12.03.2019
Got this delightful little strat instead of a Player Series Jaguar that came with a terribly buzzy setup and some tremolo issues and was sent straight back. As flawed as the Jag was, the Strat is a pretty decent player right out of the box. I played it for ten minutes and took it straight to the tech for a decent setup. After tech dressed the sharpish fret ends and polished the fretboard edge, replaced the nut for a tusq one and did a proper setup, I'm a hundred euros lighter but the guitar is a joy to play: perfect neck fit, neck a bit chunkier than my old MIM strat and very comfortable to play, trem holds tune very well despite the fact that I have it set up to float. Pickups are very clear and articulate, but depending on the sound you're looking for they might be lacking a bit in the lows / low mids -- I love them for home use / quiet stuff, but they're missing a bit of hair for my rock band basement rehearsals and I'll probably swap them out for something grittier soon -- which is of course the whole point of buying a basic Mex strat: you tweak 'em till they fit.

Pros:
- quality piece of kit, perfectly finished and very nicely put together;
- neck plays great, pau ferro fretboard looks and feels great;
- trem holds tune well.

Cons:
- needs a decent (personalized) setup;
- pickups sounding clear but rather thin.

For the money, it's a bargain of course, and if you're looking for a basic (but genuine) Fender strat to tweak into perfection (whatever that may be), you can't go wrong with this one.

Surprisingly good guitar for the buck!
tava 25.09.2019
I'll be really short about this, as there are better reviews and videos on it.
After a year of playing this guitar, it has never disappointed me, made me feel cheated or have anything break on me. This new series and the switch to Alnico pickup is a bliss. The sound is very comparable to the American made strats, and so goes for the build. the neck is firm, the fingerboard is easy to play on (with some extra care, it runs through your fingers like butter).
It has surprised me that a Mexican series could be this better than an American. It has fooled a lot of my friends that have grabbed it and made them think it's an american made.
By far i haven't had anything break or disappoint me.
I greatly recommend this guitar for anyone on a budget.

My guitar suffered from nut buzz and needed a round for repair
bergkatten 22.01.2022
The A string was too deep in the nut causing nut buzz, which was irritating.
It went a round for repair. Otherwise than this we quality is good.

Excellent value for money
Geoff from Bexhill 17.05.2020
I bought this Mexican made Player Series guitar simply because I could not afford to buy a USA standard / custom Fender Strat. I was very pleasantly surprised when it arrived. The sound and quality of build are great. It is comfortable to play with a fast action, smooth neck, good electronics, and a well balanced body. Excellent value for money, and very good service from Thomann as usual in processing and delivering my order.
