A classic guitar with extra features

Kurt Cobain needs no introduction: In his short life, the late Nirvana frontman changed the landscape of Rock music and left an immense legacy behind. Although Cobain created his own instrument with the Fender Jag-Stang, an interesting blend of Jaguar and Mustang, a modified Fender Jaguar was his guitar of choice for the majority of his career. Accordingly, Fender has pulled out a great many stops for the Kurt Cobain signature model, including "hotter" pickups, high-quality machine heads, and an "aged" look. The guitar also comes with a hardshell case and a book about Kurt Cobain, making it a must-have for true fans.

Trimmed for maximum performance

The Fender Kurt Cobain Jaguar features a solid alder body and a bolt-on maple neck, and the single coil pickups of the original have given way here to two DiMarzio "Super Distortion" humbuckers that make it easy to crunch up even the cleanest of amplifiers. The dual-circuit "lead/rhythm" design of the original Jaguar has been largely retained, albeit with a three-way toggle switch instead of the three slide switches for selecting the pickups, and the latter are governed by two dedicated volume controls and a master tone control with knurled "chrome dome" knobs. Last but not least, the headstock features a set of high-quality Gotoh machine heads.

Modern touches

The Fender Kurt Cobain Jaguar could well be described as the Holy Grail for Nirvana fans, but that would not be doing this guitar justice. While it is of course the go-to instrument for fans of the influential Grunge band, the instrument still has a lot to offer players even leaving aside the musical legacy that spawned it. The DiMarzio pickups make this guitar an excellent choice for proponents of Rock, Metal, Grunge, and Punk music, and its updated circuitry significantly reduces unwanted noise compared to its legendary ancestor. On the cosmetic side, the Kurt Cobain Jaguar's vintage look makes it highly appealing for those who prefer retro instruments, while its more modern features also include an Adjusto-Matic bridge that provides enhanced string action adjustment.

About Fender

Fender is without doubt one of the most legendary guitar and amplifier manufacturers of all time. The company was founded in 1946 by its namesake Leo Fender († 1991), whose innovative ideas brought a breath of fresh air into the musical world. His Telecaster, Stratocaster, Precision Bass, and Jazz Bass are not only classics – they also continue to shape the styles of musicians in countless genres to this day. Timeless Fender amplifier models such as the Bassman, Twin, Deluxe, and Princeton also enjoy a stellar reputation. Besides maintaining its classic product portfolio, however, the company is also constantly developing new products that make Fender a driving force in today’s music industry.

For Rock and much more

Leo Fender originally created the Jaguar as a guitar for Classical and Jazz guitarists. A generation of Surf guitarists then made it their own, and even Grunge icon Kurt Cobain made this guitar his tool of choice. The Fender Kurt Cobain Jaguar continues what he started and provides the perfect tool for playing Rock and heavier styles. In short: You don't have to be in a Nirvana tribute band to enjoy this signature model - anyone who is on the hunt for a high-quality Fender guitar with humbuckers and plenty of output is sure to find what they are looking for in the Kurt Cobain Jaguar.

With the lights out, it's less dangerous

I bought this guitar knowing exactly what it can do and I was not disappointed . Every Nirvana fan has attempted to play the intro to "You Know You're right" , the bridge set up on this guitar will allow you to reproduce that very sound. it is also an extremely versatile guitar.
As a fan , I am more than happy, as a guitar player I am more than satisfied. My neighbors can confirm. The pick ups are hot, the neck is easy and comfortable with Pristine finish and a solid case to carry this baby around.
Buy this. You will not regret.

What a guitar!
blks 19.12.2022
At the beginning i was skeptical about this guitar.
There are a lot of good but also a lot of bad reviews. Mine came in perfect condition as it should. I spend about 3 hours to setup the guitar correctly and i can ensure you that its an amazing instrument.

A lot of tone options. I believe it can play any style of music. The neck feels good to my hands. I strongly suggest this guitar as it is a very good instrument. The only thing i don't like at those type of guitars is that you have remove the neck in order to have access to the truss rod but anyway this is an easy process.

Thomann service nailed it one more time with the quality of service!

A great guitar

Lovely neck, amazing build quality, a pleasure to play. The pickups are very good too, albeit too hot for me. I swapped them with TV Jones classics, which transformed the guitar into a total masterpiece.

Cobain Jaguar

Pros: guitar looks great sound great, tuners are very stable, the fender case looks sleek a good combination fit for the Grunge King.

Cons: modern feeling neck. Jumbo frets not for all, needs fret levelling and crowning. A simple visit in the luthier will fix this small issue.

The included magazine means that this guitar is really special.
