This is an extremely good guitar. Great sound, great playability, stays in tune and I really enjoy playing it. BUT...why the hell doesn't Cortek, the manufacturer in Indonesia, set-up these guitars? I know, that would cost an extra 50 cents thereby reducing Fender and Eddie's family trust a few cents in profit per guitar. So, yes, great guitar and I wished I had had one as a kid. BUT...for that money, I expected the electronics cavity to be shielded - but it's not; I expected a tremolo arm that doesn't flop around and come loose - but it does; I expected a push-pull pot to split the coils - but it doesn't. EVH doesn't play these entry models (well he didn't - past tense). He played US made by Fender models. Don't you think that a kid starting out on guitar would be frustrated getting a poorly set-up guitar? Would he/she know how to set up a Floyd Rose? And by the way, this is the cheaper FR model.
So, yes, the guitar is pretty good but for the money, I expected a damn good set-up, coil split functionality, a push-in tremolo arm and shielded cavities. After the set-up, it's damn nice to play.
