A Reasonable Acoustic for Reasonable Money
Carlos Teh Jackal 09.02.2022
A nice guitar, well finished and has no flaws.

There is a built-in tuner that is reasonably accurate and easy to use. The pre-amp is very well made and produces a very decent sound with a good range of tonal adjustments through the built-in tone controls.

Acoustically it sounded a little too dull and thick with the fitted strings. I changed the strings and it did sound a little brighter, but not as bright as it should. It is also not as loud as a guitar of this body size should be. I suspect the choice of woods has a negative effect on the resonance.

The neck is fatter than I prefer and is finished in gloss, making it feel a little sticky sometimes. I'll by lightly sanding it to more of a satin finish.

Overall, it's worth the money. You get what you pay for and the pricing on this is about right.

MA
Perfect guitar!
Mihail Alexandru 05.06.2013
I've had this guitar for few month now, it sounds fantastic for the price range, good initial setup, fantastic look and feel, easy tune and easy connection for recording purposes.

When you pick up the guitar, you can feel the sturdy construction. the sound coming from the guitar is huge, very balanced between bass and mid-range notes. Stings height is low thus making the playing really easy. Guitar has both mono and stereo plugs for jacks so integration with a mixer or recording interface is really easy.

For me this guitar was an upgrade from a mid range Ibanez and the difference is massive.

Absolutely love the guitar and the full feel it has!

Oh My God Wow
Sean3920 19.04.2016
Well what can i say, this is the second epiphone guitar I have purchased from Thomann and its just amazing. It plays like a dream. I was shocked and completely taking away when i started playing it. You can really feel the base when you start playing the guitar, it vibrates through the hole guitar and gives you a feeling of power. The sound through my speakers is just amazing as well. I use the guitar for playing at all my gigs. The guitar was slightly bigger than I imagined but its still a brilliant guitar. The guitar arrived on perfect time and i had full confidence ordering from Thomann there wasn't a scratch on it. Thank you thomann, I hope to be ordering from you again, :-)

TB
quality at a great price
Terry B. 20.05.2013
This Epiphone has a great tone, good action on the frets as well as looking good; works well on its own and comes through great with an amp. As evidence of what I've said I had order another as friends tried it out and wanted one for themselves.

S
Excellent acoustic guitar for a mid budget
Sumner 01.01.2023
I'm not a guitarist, I'm a singer-songwriter-producer. I wanted an acoustic with a deep, rich, full tone (without sounding muddy) to incorporate into some of the songs I've written and this gave me exactly that. I haven't played it plugged in yet, but strictly as an acoustic, I couldn't be happier with my purchase. I'm recording with an Apollo Twin and a Royer R-10 mic, sometimes a Lauten Clarion FC-357.

I can't speak to the setup out of the box from an expert's perspective, but to a producer who just purchased it for basic studio recording purposes, it feels fine. Action is alright as-is. I will experiment with changing the strings. It feels comfortable to me, but bear in mind I am 1.90 meters tall so I'm not sure how it would feel for someone with shorter arms.

One con: Thomann initially sent me a guitar that seemed like it had been used and had a slight defect. However, I exchanged it for a new one that arrived in perfect condition. Seeing as though they corrected their mistake and provided good customer service, they still get five stars from me.

J
Great sounding guitar
John8100 11.02.2015
I love playing this guitar. I had read the reviews which set my mind on this guitar, that and the fact that Todd Snider makes very good use of one live and maybe also on his recording. But I also wanted to buy a guitar off the shelf so I knew what it felt and sounded like. I had a few opportunities to try some guitars but none felt just right or worth the money. Unfortunately though, I never got the chance to try out one of these. But it looked too nice and all the online reviews I could find just spoke so highly of it. So with that and a gut feeling I ordered online. Zero regrets. Haven't even changed the stock strings yet. Play it loud, soft, pick...whatever, it's the biz.

SO
Great guitar for the money
Séan O\' Laighainn 29.01.2022
Was kooking for a nice playable acoustic to record with on a budget. This ticks all the boxes.

Comfortable neck shape and scale, cutaway body and the pickup is quite nice for amplification or recording. sound is bright with a good amount of bass.

The build quality is good (perfect out of the box) for the money. Parts do look budget on close inspection such as the bridge and pickup, but these are astethic issues more than functional ones.

Overall a great guitar if you are looking for a decent acoustic to play or record with and don't want to go all in with a higher end model.

P
Amazing value for money
Paul6356 04.03.2015
Great guitar with a lot of lovely features. Met all my expectations but be prepared to change the strings for some lighter ones unless you like playing on 12's. The fade between two picks provides a wide range of sounds and the Grover machine heads mean it seldom needs tuning.
Every time I use I marvel at how much guitar I got for the money. That makes me happy!

J
Awesome Guitar for the price
Julian6223 19.06.2014
My ideal acoustic guitar, the one I yearn to own, is a Gibson J200. But with only a few hundred to spend instead of a few thousand, this was the obvious choice. So glad I made it. I've played many guitars in this price range and the feel, playability, tone, looks, and on board electrics are amazing for the price. Could not be happier.
