Turned my side project bass into my main bass!
cells01 11.03.2019
I bought 2 of these for my Traben Neo 4 which I was respraying and adding some upgrades on, I bought these as they were all I could afford at the time and I just wanted to get the job done. Once the bass was built and set up I was shocked. These pickups gave an amazing warm and clear sound (no hum or muffled sound) they give both great tone and deep bass, I would highly recommend these overall, I used 1 for the bridge and one for the neck, paired this with a pickup blender control knob and your classic 4 knobs for tone, mid, bass and volume. The only con I can think off with these is that I cannot afford to put these on all of my bass guitars!

EMG 35DC AWESOM PICKUPS!!!
Anonymous 14.02.2015
I bought these pickups to replace the stock pickups in my thunderbird and they have done an absolutely amazing job! Before I bought them I wasn't completely sold on the advantages and effects of having active pickups as opposed to having passive pickups, but these ones have certainly made me want to never go back to passives ever again!

I love these pickups because it was a solderless install (Bar the soldering required to remove the old pickups, but this can be avoided by just cutting the existing wiring), the sound quality and clarity are amazing and I am massively impressed with the overall effect these pickups have had on my tone and the tonal options that are now available to me!

I would definitely recommend a set of these to any player wanting to swap out their stock pickups and open out a shed load of new tonal possibilities!

Very easy to install and a great deep punchy sound. This active pickup has been on my list for a long time. I wanted to upgrade my Passive Bass to an active, this was a perfect pickup as it required no soldering or any hard work. A long with this I performed the 18v mod using two batteries instead of one which has boosted the mid-range.

Overall I would definitely recommend somebody these pickups.

Big improvement

I had passive EMG pickups in my Spector bass for years but was never completely happy with the sound. These 35DC active pickups have made a huge difference, massive output, a more "open" sound and no more hum issues in certain venues. Popular pickups for a good reason!

Pick up an EMG pickup.
JDstrings 03.06.2013
I bought a pair of these (and active control) for a bass guitar I had made to which I had originally fitted cheap unbranded pickups and active electronics. The original items had sounded ok but picked up up a nasty hum (despite everything being shielded with acres of copper foil) when used in venues with certain lighting so I decided to treat the bass to some quality parts! (It seemed only fair as it is a particularly good looking bass even if I do say so myself!)
The EMG items (in conjunction with an EMG active eq) were easy to install and have cleared up the hum problem entirely. The sound is very good with nice fat lows, clear highs and an even response across the whole range.
If you are fitting these with an EMG controls it is all very straight forward as it is a modular system with connectors so no soldering is required. The only thing to note is the difference between active and passive pickups and their requirement for different balance control units -make sure you get the right one!

Bought this for my passive Fleabass guitar. Totally transformed the sound for the better.

Easy install and instructions.

Thomann again was the best price for the item for all the online suppliers.

Thanks
