Great for the jazzer in you!
Pavonis 11.04.2018
Finally found my pick after decades of flipping different brands, weights and styles. These things fit very nicely in the hand, they seem to articulate what I want to hear better than weedy picks, and they last forever!

In the past I have struggled with a cramping picking hand ,and losing grip, especially in live settings, but these picks have really helped with that. They stay facing the way I want thanks to the "concave" sides, and I've never dropped one. To me it also seems easier to exercise control, as there is no flexibility in the pick at all.

Excellent "Meaty" Plectrum
Pants Guitar Player 09.04.2018
Excellent plectrum.

These plectrums are the latest step on the plectrum journey. Excellent grip and gives a nice "smooth" and precise sound.

I don't use anything else!

These are by far my favorite picks. They last long and I think they actually help with my carpal tunnel being that they're large and fat, yet easily gripped. I also like how smooth they glide when picking my strings.

They are huge

Huge picks, with great grip, and a sharp tip. I always hated the Jazz III kind of picks because of their size, and I wanted the same sharpness. This took me there, so I am quite happy.

Total Tone Control
Anonymous 12.03.2015
Disclaimer: My main instrument is guitar.

I got these lured in by my long-term use of Dunlop Stubby Jazz Small (1mm) on guitar (oh, I don't play jazz).

The little stubby was too small for fat bass strings so I got the Big Stubby and I am glad I did.

These picks are thick but don't let the number fool you.

A) There's recess for you thumb and finger (on both sides), this increases the grip and control you have over pressure you're applying against the strings.

B) The pick is pointy - the thickness decreases towards the tip - while preserving the overal strenght.

You can play hard but also gently and everything in between. Thanks to the pointiness, you can do fast runs and even alternate picking as the pick just glides through/over the strings.

Occassionally, I use it when playing guitar, it's actually great for arpeggios :)

All in all, this is, in my opinion the best bass pick you can get as it blends advantages of soft and hard picks.

Great sound, great comfort

Very comfortable picks that bring that warm sound out of your bass, that's usually lost by playing with a pick

Great and fast
Anonymous 14.05.2014
Hey,

as a bass player it can get frustrating when the band you're in wants you to play fast. Your guitarist gives you a pick and it drastically changes the sound to a sharper attack which can suck if you still want to play fast and maintain that groovy finger-playing sound.

With Big Stubby Picks you don't have too! (or at least the 3.0mm ones) there's really no difference in sound when I play at least. You get to have your finger-playing sound, and play it fast too!

They're also very good for heavy duty strumming.

Until now for me there is no other!

Great thick picks for an honest price and they last long,

They might take some getting used to, but you won’t feel a difference after you’re warmed up.

my new go-to pick
Anonymous 28.03.2016
I got these to experiment with thicker/sturdier picks, and it was a success. These are now my go-to picks. Initially I was a bit scared that such a big pick would be unweildly, and if you have the same concern, I must insist that you try such a pick out. Maybe you'll like the feel of it, like I did.

I'd been using the heavy Dunlop Tortex 1.14 for 10 years or so up to now, and picking up a big stubby was a revelation. I have a much better grip on them. They work great with hybrid picking. They sound a bit brighter, what with being a nylon pick, but I've gotten used to it.

I recommend the 24 pack because I, at least, wear the tip out rather quickly (it's noticeably less pointy after about two weeks of use).
