This is John Petrucci in a pickup

One of the best neck pickups I've tried, and I've been through most of what Dimarzio produce. It's harmonically rich, fat and high output with a full frequency range. It cleans up well when the volume is reduced and doesn't loose too much treble (as per the Dimarzio Breed). Its not overly boomy on a 24 fret guitar but produces a nice rounded output when the upper frets are played on a heavily overdriven amp. Not thin and brittle like the Evolutions, or muddy like other pickups in the neck position.

The trouble with a pickup such as this is that it makes at least one aspect of many other high output pickups sound inferior!

Installation is dead simple, so long as you know how to use a soldering iron and know what flux is, the flex is more than long enough, just don't be tempted to cut it too short.

Quick delivery from Thomann as usual.

T
Perfect for lead.

Bought this as I was changing my active pickups and I wanted more versatility, and I use this along a Pegasus in the bridge.
Even though it's more of a high output, metal pickup, the LiquiFire has a TON of clarity and it can put out glassy cleans as well. I have a push-pull switch and the coil split sounds really strat like. It's like having a metal axe and a blues guitar in one !
I am pleasantly surprised with this pickup and I'd recommend it to anyone who wants a lot of tonal character and really great cleans (strat-like with a split !)

l
Goo quality and high level of output

I wanted a pair of humbuckers to replace the pickups of my PRS se custom 24.
I heard a lot of good about DiMarzio CrunchLab and LiquidFire so I've decided to try them.
Result is : the output level is very high, witch could be good or bad, depending on what you want.
I've configured the electronic the have those pickups splitable, witch turns out to be a good choice and makes my PRS highly polyvalent.
To my mind, we have here a pair very good humbuckers, high quality, but more designed for metal or hard rock.
As a Blues player and if I had to choose again, I think I would give a shot to The Seymour Duncan JB & 59 instead.
