More than I expected, Di Marzio is excellent
Iakovos K 27.10.2019
Normally, I expected a pickup that was just warm, maybe a bit special in its own way, jazz, rock, and all that. What I got is one of the most versatile pickups I've ever tried, it has removed the unnecessary fatness of the stock pickup, and replaced it with 70's gentleness and warmness in sound, a bit fat but not too much, warm like Fleetwood Mac sound, if you add a series parallel switch from your luthier, you are going to see the real potential though. 10/10

P
Excellent product
Paul2500 14.07.2014
Having purchased a 23 year old Epiphone EB-0 bass as a take anywhere no worries bass I then started to get into the sound and feel more but wanted to improve the sound - this pickup does just what it is supposed to - it is a direct replacement for the Epi bass pickup - my tech was most impressed about how well it fitted and was easy to install (so didn't cost me a fortune), he liked the sound and I really like the sound - if you want a 60's vibe this could be for you - you can also install it with a more complex wiring to split the coils and stuff - brighter sound, less volume, but I wanted and got the THUD!

I changed the original pickup on my Epiphone EB-0 bass guitar with this DiMarzio gem and I am very happy with it! I needed to modify little bit the pickup hole on the guitar body, but after that, the other steps were easy, thank to the very good original instructions, good figures, etc. After the incorporation, still have enough wires to change the wiring if I would like to try other sound, but the easiest wiring produced so nice, warm and quality new tone..... Simply good!

Great upgrade for your EB-0
Martin773 31.12.2015
Added one of these to my Epiphone EB-0 along with a three position switch (in place of the tone knob) allowing me to stitch between series, parallel and single coil. Brilliant upgrade. Much clearer tone.

D
Proper bass
David6599 27.10.2015
A magnificent pickup. I used it as a replacement on an EB-0, and I've been delighted with the sound -- it's got the thickness of the original Mudbucker, but with more clarity. Old-fashioned, but with bags of character. My favourite neck pickup.

You want deep bass? It does it!
Harley-Rider 23.02.2024
What a pickup! 'Mudbucker' is an unkind name for it yet so close to the truth. It does not play nicely with other pickups. The massive inductance sets up some weird interactions that you may well like. Billy Sheehan knows what he is doing with his stereo bass. The big DiMarzio into one amplifier, the 'sensible' pickup into a different amplifier!

Not so mudbucker.
mcrmgs 30.07.2024
Compared to a SG mudbucker this isnt so muddy its halfway from mudbucker to a P, but still a very vintage tone. In bridge position is surprisingly clear for harmonics.
