Great pickup for a live setting
ellaplayscello 15.10.2018
I originally had the Band Headway pickup for my cello which worked fine until I joined a louder band, where it started to feedback a lot more than it ever had before. So, I did a bit of research and came out with either this or the DPA. I settled on the Soundclip and I'm delighted I did.

This works incredibly well in a live setting, perhaps if you're in a group on a small stage. It's resilient, tough and easy to use. I paired it with a Fishman DI which works amazingly well overall. While the sound isn't amazing, it sounds like you would expect a normal electric cello to sound like.
I would definitely recommend buying it if you're going to be doing a lot of Tina Guo-esque performing but don't want to splash out on a Yamaha electric cello just yet! ;)

Its probably the best sounding piezo pickup if you don't use an impulse response.
With impulse response it also sounds great, but if you always use an IR you don't need a pickup this expensive.
However if you like to play with distortion (where an IR of an instrument, not a cab sounds bad), its nice to have a pickup that sounds great on its own.
So prob the most versatile pickup.
