Had this little bastard for exactly a year now. Mostly used it for production and mixing (on the pro side). Once your brain gets adjusted to its slightly sub-elevated sound it has proven to be an extremely analytical pair of cans. In case you want to use it for the same purpose, please note that there is a smear on the mid low, essentially turning the mud into a smoother brown puddle. For this and the coloring I would say is more of an audiophile piece.

The carry case and fact that it collapses is by far the most useless feature on this pair. This is NOT a portable product. I mean it would be, but you need to haul around a PA system to drive these (a competent amp is definitely required). It does, however, sound great on almost anything that can feed it with "kilowattses". The sound quality, oh boy, is more than worth it.

The headband and way is fixed to the wires is a very bad design choice. It came loose on me and fell off multiple times. The wires, if you touch them, are a very long sustain musical instrument playing only G#. The paint is already rubbed off on some corners and the foam tends to turn out of place inside the cushions. But they are extremely comfortable.

Can you find open back earphones better and cheaper than this one? Sure. ... Like almost all of them at this price.

Can you find closed backs better than this? No, probably not.

These headphones a tuned very nicely (I prefer them with the black felt inlays). Very comfortable. Planar magnetic usually tend to be on the heavier side (magnets) but these are very light due to the materials used.
I use them in the office and can wear them for hours. Noise isolation is pretty good.
They are closed back but feel a bit like a open back by the sound. It is very wide. They also respond well to EQ, so give them that bass shelf and feel the rumble.
The only small negative I'd say is that the earpads deform very quickly (There are threads about it), you can bring them back to form by pulling a bit on the skin, but still..

I purchased these phones for 999 euros as Brand new. Was really looking forward to them of course due to reports of their more open soundstage for a closed back for use with mixing/mastering.
They arrived in a box that differed to box seen in unboxing videos for this headphone..the headphone box was extremely scuffed/scraped, the headphones themselves had a massive warped looking defect on one of the carbon fiber earcups, the white foam inserts were already inserted and had black and brown dirt on them. The cables listed here on the product page weren't even in it. No 3.5mm/6.35mm (1/4 inch) termination cable present, just a balanced XLR 4 pin meaning I couldn't even test them unfortunately. I returned them within an hour of arriving by getting a label from support. Very disappointed, frustrated. The condition was closer to Z-Stock, nevermind b stock, or new in my case. This really isn't good. Careful when purchasing.

Excellent near-Harman response out of the box, a bit bright by default but either with EQ or the supplied filter pads you can tune this down efficiently. Will need some adjustment to use as a neutral monitor, but for middle of the road consumer friendly freq response they are ready to go.
Very light and well made with great sound isolation. I had some concerns coming from a long line of open-backs about comfort/heat/moisture etc. but have had no issues at all even for near day long sessions.
These primarily replaced some similarly priced Audezes that needed a fair bit of EQ on the RME ADI-2-DAC FS they're connected to, no EQ needed on the Aeon (just the white single-notch filter supplied) to sound much better than the Audezes ever did with.
They do require a fair amount of power though...

It is a really comfortable headphone, I wear them for hours on end. The tuning filters help give it that small touch to tune the treble. The sound is as you would expect from a headphone in this price range. The build quality is fantastic, all metal and still very light. The only gripe might be the ear pads, being protein leather caused a rash, but this is mainly a personal issue, not a quality issue. The pads are big and plush, giving the headphones a decent sized sound stage. If I were to only buy a single headphone, it would probably be these, despite the somewhat high price. The cable is fine, nothing extraordinary, but it does the job well, nice and straight and doesn't pick up noise. The carrying case is small, and fits just fine in a bag.
It really is a good overall package, I would highly recommend it.
