INSPIRATIONAL SYNTH!
Bill Joseph 13.08.2016
The Nord Lead A1 is well described in the comments section here.
The Users Manual is well written and can be downloaded online.
I found this to be helpful whilst testing the synth as you really don't need to tear open the sealed plastic bag containing the manual that comes with the keyboard in the event of it having to be returned.

It is an amazing instrument capable of all kinds of Tomita style soundscapes, ghostly voices (Soprano Singer included!) with huge basses and leads.
The quality of sound is wonderful with crystal clear sleighbell tones sounding like they are covered in ice.

Each synth bank can be transposed up or down, split, played solo or in unison creating pads and leads of massive proportions.
There are countless sound changing possibilities and there were no polyphony problems.

The Effects (as many as required) are absolutely superb. Particularly impressive are the reverbs which can create enormous distance which make them excellent for film music scores and ambient soundscapes.

Unlike other synths I have recently tried, there were no bugs, glitches or other problems whatsoever with the Nord Lead A1.
It was perfect.

Just turn it on and begin to create.

Thank you so much NORD for this beautifully made lightweight though rock solid professional instrument.
A truly inspirational synth!

And to Musikhaus Thomann for their caring and always helpful service..vielen Dank!

Outstanding synth
Gunārs 18.08.2018
I can surely say, I'm glad I have this synth in my collection. I have some experience with synths, where making new patches is quite a challenge, but not in this case. Making sounds with Nord Lead A1 is not hard. Everything is very understandable, you only need a little help from manual to know some shortcuts and commands you can't do with one button.
If you are a big fan of 80's then this is the synth you must have. I guess this is the reason why I love it so much. I like to make movie and game soundtrack covers, especially Sci-fi and horror, and it gives me exactly what I need. If you read this you already know what it's capable of, but I assure you, when you actually start to work with it, it sounds like it does much more. If you are good at programming sounds, you can make it sound close to Yamaha CS 80.
Thank you for this wonderful product!

A
A virtual analog with 24 voices polyphony
Anonymous 07.05.2016
Lightweight, portable, easy to program. A virtual analog that emulates analog synths. Not too loud, some more dB would be appreciated, though still a valid alternative to a real analog synth. Thomann service was perfect, as usual.
