These are the best-selling open-back headphones, but I sold them (The sound varies greatly depending on the degree of pressing to your head.
My head is small, for me the middle looks like a failure.
And if the head is large, then the ear pads are pressed and the place for the ears disappears)) Then it is not comfortable.

Once I bought original ear pads for the 990 and was disappointed to see that they differed from the original ones in size (they were just a different batch), even the left one was larger than the right one((. Since then I have been disappointed in "beyerdynamic".

I changed them to HD560S.

I bought these headphones for Mixing/Mastering purposes as being a night owl, I would certainly annoy neighbors with studio monitors. In overall, I am surprised how detailed and crisp these headphones sound. They are very comfortable to wear for some hours. The only drawback I see is the non-detachable cable as it is the most vulnerable part of the device. Especially beware if you have a cat with cable chewing habits. Other than that, it does the job pretty well, just don't wear them outside if you decide to listen some funny music, they are a bit loud outside being open-ended. They are also useless if you want to record on a microphone if you don't want a naturally occurred delay in your vocals, for these purposes closed-ended ones are recommended
