Warm fuzzies

In a nutshell: Great sound; ear cushions not as good as 250 version but still great value.

I've had the 250 ohm version of these for a while and use them for hours every day for computer, gaming, radio, and other miscellaneous household entertainment. They're light, very snug and comfortable, and completely surround the ear without touching. Sound insulation is excellent, granting a real sense of peace and serenity in an increasingly incomprehensible world. Sound quality is a little boxy, but this is the nature of the closed headphone beast. In short: muchos recommendeos.

So it was without hesitation that I purchased the 32 ohm version of the same model for use with field recording and roaming with my iPod. Less ohm resistance means more volume!

These 32'ers have the same sound, same great insulation. But they're a little less comfortable with the ear cushions being in black faux-leather. PVC, I would imagine. It's ok. Very good in fact. But the lovely fuzzy grey material on the 250 ohm set spoiled my precious princess ears so I was a tiny bit disappointed.

Seems a silly thing to be disappointed about, and it is. But we are irrational animals whose passions are governed by little details that irk. And sadly I, dear Reader, am no exception.

Glad to say that the musical response in the ears is still as clear as their big brother's and they perform their designated tasks with aplomb, nay, palpable enthusiasm. So yes I would recommend these as well if you need this ohm rating. They do "go to eleven" if need be without breaking up.

Quality 'phones, decent scratch

If you are lacking a dedicated headphone amp or occasionally rely on the headphone out on your digi interface, you'll know that sometimes the output can be a little on the quiet side - 32 ohm rated headphones are one answer and these jobs are basic by design, but as expected from a great make, sound fab for the money. I've used the old studio and broadcast classic DT 100's for years and these are similar - not too coloured and clear and accurate. Not the most comfy if worn for too long, but I do have a very large head.

Harsh highs

Harsh highs compared to 80ohms. Also not very detailed in the mid range. The target group for these headphones are mobile users whereas for 80/250ohms studio hence the difference.

SS
Very good closed back headphones, but the cable is too short
Steven S 14.11.2018
I bought these headphones for vocal recording.

The sound quality is very good, you can hear the whole spectrum clearly, particularly the bass. The price is also very reasonable. The ear pads are very comfortable and don't squish your head or ears like most headphones do, so you can wear it for long periods of time. However, it can get very warm underneath the ear pads, so make sure the room is not too hot.

The most obvious downside of this product which made me rate three stars for comfort is the short length of the cable (roughly 1.5 m). A 2.5 m cable would have been the absolute minimum for vocal recording. Now, we need to keep the mic close to the audio interface to keep it in the range of the headphones' cable.

In short, these are very affordable headphones with a tremendous sound quality and fantastic comfort, but I would buy an extension for the cable.

Great Headphones
Anonymous 07.09.2016
These headphones offer great value for money with a very accurate sound. Brilliant for referencing especially the low ends.
The high end doesn't quiet match that of a more expensive headphone but this is only referring to the very high end (16/17 kHz+) and is not a problem for referencing, and is certainly not a problem for listening.

They are a very comfortable fit, a solid build and you have piece of mind knowing all parts are replaceable so you will have these head phones forever (Unless they get stolen or lost, so its recommend you write your contact details on the owner card tab that comes with the case!)

I would have liked the case to be made of leather or something stronger, like what you get with a sennheiser headphone,I suppose you win some you lose some..

Quality German engineering and design.

Any Producers or Engineers should seek to invest in the 80 or 250 ohm version of these headphones,
