Excellent product.

I have tried most of the fingerboard oils out there, including some that you can't find at any regular instrument dealers. This one is my favorite by far. The result is shinier and the wood looks deeper and more lively than with any other oils I've tried. The final result looks almost like that wood has gotten an ultra thin layer of laquer. Very, very beautiful. I've used this oil with excellent results on ebony and rosewood.

I also like the fact that this oil does not smell of anything. I've had some less than satisfactory results with other oils that seemingly smelled nice but reacted with the wood (or maybe some earlier applied oils) and turned out smelling very nasty.

Top ratings, highly recommended!!!

I can't speak highly enough about this product
Jonny Whatshisface 13.03.2021
For me, mineral oil is mineral oil. Sure, there's going to be some other components in here that help the mineral oil penetrate in to the wood etc - but this really has been a very good buy imo.

Most of the mineral oils I've used in the past have the annoying applicator tip, like a cotton ball built in that you use to apply the oil. In my opinion, that only causes people to overdo the oil in most cases. With the bellacura - just give a few drops and you're good to go.

I did test it on a fingerboard that's not on a neck just to do some spot tests, and tested it against two different other oils. The bellacura seemed to "stick around" longer and didn't just evaporate up quickly like the other ones did. The fretboard still looked really good and shiny an hour later.

Word of advice, as I've been seeing a lot of this the past few weeks. This isn't meant for you to put on your fretboard every string change or a few times a month. Hell, a few times a year may also be overboard. Your fingers will naturally oil the fretboard - just keep it clean.

But every now and then, you should oil your fretboard and when you do - this product is really pleasant to use and work with. And it doesn't have the annoying lemon smell to nor the artificial yellow colouring like "lemon oil."

Very good oil

This is the first fingerboard oil i have used but it made the fingerboard look very shiny and made the colours pop. I did not notice any smell.
I ordered this because of the positive reviews and i am very pleased with it. I rubbed it on with a microfiber cloth and it looked great

SL
Perfectly good solution.
Stian L. 12.04.2024
I bought this due to reviews saying it added more shine and depth to the fretboard than other treatments. I tested it against a very common similar product and it looked the same on application. An hour later it had dried and looked the same. A month later I can't tell where I used this and where I used the other product.

That doesn't mean this is bad. It's just not better than your more famous oils. It's a perfectly good fretboard oil and if I had to use it for the rest of my life I'd be happy. But I'd also be happy with other brands.

Echoing others this is a great fingerboard oil based on mineral oil.
- Don’t use on maple boards and use very sparingly indeed on rosewood and ebony boards. Maybe a couple of drops a year.
- Spread and wipe off and shine almost immediately.
- It should only be a surface treatment. Don’t drown your fretboard.
- Do not worry about trying to penetrate between the frets and board
- This bottle will last you and your friends a lifetime.
- Great value for money based on the above

Well done

Great quality oil. There is no smell at all like the other more severe "lemony" products, which I find it really user-friendly. It also runs very smooth through the surface of the fretboard. Touching it and spreading through the wooden surface it feels more "oily" and characteristic unlike other products which feel more watery. Definitely recommend!

Great!

I really love how this makes my double bass' fingerboard look more expensive :D Apparently also prevents cracks and has the added benefit of making the fingerboard blacken my fingers less.

Definitely worth giving a try -- cheap and makes you feel like you're taking good care of your expensive instrument.

Works for me
Korman 17.07.2020
This is an oil which goes on the fret-board. Being an oil it gives the fret-board a shiny richer look. I tried it and once it soaks into the wood it gives it a richer slicker look.
